I do know this... but Im hoping beyond rational thought. I'm gonna take a couple hours each night after work tillt he weekend, doing just that. On, load, off - Rinse and repeat.
Thanks for your info Chris. I'm quite happy with the unit now that its purring and I know its making good power. Thoughts on the No Fuel condition going away? Im wondering if the set was just all gunked up (especially in the tank), and the Seafoam has just gotten rid of most of it, allowing for...
So I've got two hours on it tonight. 1 hour at 5.5kw, and the last hour its been 5.5+900 (space heater set to medium setting). I did the math again, and I was simply asking too much of an 802 with the two of the three circuits (5.5 + 2.7kw). Its been running strong at about 115% for the last...
I ended up running it for almost 4 hours straight last night with the constant load, and noticed no waiver in rpms or hertz (within reason). I am wondering if the second leg I am trying to kick on is just simply too much for the machine (it should be at the very top of what it will put out). I'm...
Yeah the hertz gauge is crap on my Tier 2 002A.. less than 15 hours since they rebuilt it, and it was dead the day I received it. I just use a Kill-a-watt for it, and all my testing of my other gennies.
Glad you have at least two units then! Take a few days to dry out, finish up any hurricane booze you stored up, and go through your WORKING machine to make sure its in optimal condition... then move back to the problem child. Whats that phrase... two is one, and one is none? Use the post...
To Guy's point... these machines, for as complex and overwhelming as they can be for someone starting out... can be as equally deadly if you don't know the basics. If you don't have an understanding of the basic operation, its no different than asking some office worker somewhere to grab some...
How much oil.. a little, or a lot? Don't stick your head in the oven just yet. It might be a catastrophic breakdown... it might be something less. Just trying to be positive in this crappy time for you :)
Its an ONAN DN4M (technically its a Lister-Petter DN4M... but its being sourced and supported for this application by Onan). What you want is TM-9-2815-253-24 and -24P. See attached.
Thanks Guy. Give it your all, or don't do it at all.
The 802 has been humming along for almost an hour, under 5.5kw load. 'No Fuel' light is on... but shes making good power!
Do you have any space heaters laying around you can plug in? Or run an AC? How about a turkey... got any you could cook off for a few hours? Last run on my 803 included my wife roasting a few chickens and running the clothes dryer. It was happy.
Much like automobiles... you can find a 200k mile truck that has been loved its entire life, be in better condition than an off-lease car which the owner gave no craps... but only drove it 24k.
I second what Chris said... if this is for you, I'd go for it. Low hour generators are going for...
And the reason I want to see if the Battle Short switch works as intended, is I really want to burn through this tank of fuel with Seafoam to let it fully clean the fuel system. Not to take shortcuts.
Reading through 9-6115-641-24 before work:
1-12-1-2. The Fault System consists of the malfunction indicator, low fuel level float switch, fuel float switch module, fuel level relay, low oil pressure switch, oil pressure relay, coolant high temperature switch, overvoltage relay, overload/short...
