What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Two new Kumho at51 235/85/r16 installed on front of m1008. The tires I replaced had a date code from 1991. They were getting pretty rough and with the warm weather we have had I was afraid they would blow. Tires were ordered from Walmart website for $125 a piece and I got them free shipping in 3...

Injection pump leaking fuel into "valley" M1008

Probably the throttle shaft seals, that's where mine leaks before it warms up. Mine drips on the driver's side of the IP and can be seen from the front. Mine stops dripping once the truck warms up.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I aligned the marks but on first try was one spline off , so I moved it one spline clockwise and I am good to go now. My dad said get the wheel as close as you can with the factory marks and then adjust drag link . I'm good now though. Thanks again . Stay cool.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Removed and changed fuel filter. Also i removed that pesky fuel pressure sensor. Next my dad and I tapped the hole and put a small bolt with loctite in. I put my horn button back on after steering wheel removal for new lock cylinder. Button was off for a while, due to realignment of the...

24 Volts on Red GP Relay lead or 12?

Thank you for the correction, I couldn't find my glow plugs relay diagram and I did look. What I meant was power comes in the pink wire and is grounded through the blue wire via the card. I couldn't remember. My point was that the circuit must have power and a ground to energize the magnet and...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Got center speaker mounted after some minor modification. Next moved along and got radio mounted in dash. Had to drill one hole for a bolt to mount the stereo support bracket. Got stereo situated like I want after comparing to stereo in my k10 truck. Leaving town Thursday for Bluegrass music and...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Mine would not go into accessory position with original lock cylinder. Whether it was from age, dirt, or disuse, I don't know. I read on the forums that the army didn't have an accessory position on the cylinders. Maybe maybe not. Warthog said the ignition switch was the same as civilian. So I...

24 Volts on Red GP Relay lead or 12?

There is 24 v on the big red wire coming from glow plugs resistor until you engage the glow plugs and innitiate the wait light, then as the resistor comes under a load the voltage will drop to 12v. It is a two person job to check the resistor with a load test. You can check for resistance in the...

    m1008 shock absorbers needed...

My shocks were were original with 57,000 mi and the truck was very bouncy. The Monroe's made a huge difference. The old shocks were so worn out anything would have been better. It didn't take too long to install but I took my time and cleaned up bolts.

    m1008 shock absorbers needed...

I have run Monroe's on my trucks for years. I just put a set on my m1008 and they ride great. A cucv is just a civilian k30 with some military add onss. Same height and all that. So you don't need shocks for a lifted truck u less you are planning to put a lift kit on.
