Figure the odds of there being two alternator posts right next to each other......My post was supposed to be attached to the one I started, not this one.....
Sorry, it's late and I fell off my truck!!
Gen 1 matches page f-11.
Gen 2 doesn't
F-11 has red to + and red/white to -
Mine has a red to both with an additional orange to +
This looks to be the same as the "before" picture that I took but it could be wrong.
Could I have the alt hooked up wrong? I took picture and made note that orange wire goes on top. The TM has a red with white stripe and a suppressor going to the Neg. and a red going to the Pos.
Mine has a solid red going to both. The Pos has an additional orange wire (not in TM) going to it.
When I was in the military and something broke, you always start troubleshooting the last thing you touched. In this case, it's the passenger side alternator.
It failed at work last week. I drove about 25 miles with it squelling and the gauge in the yellow zone.
Just got the alt rebuilt...
Replaced the carb. Now the choke works. Replaced the fuel pump already and the filter twice. Second time was with a clear one so I can see what is going through.
I think NDT is on to the problem. I think the problem is in the tank or lines. Going to replace all lines and pull the tank. I...
red m880
I think you work close by (AV8 hanger). Is your M880 red with white rims?
I am working on my third M880. I might not know too much, but feel free to ask if you have any questions.

I bought some 24 volt lights at the John Deere Dealer. Mounted in back but haven't wired up yet. I am planning on splicing into the blackout lights for juice so I don't have to add another switch, just flip on BO for backing up.
I worked on the new M880 all day today. Got rid of the camper shell. Took it for a ride and it stalled three times at 50 + mph. Didn't like that too much. I think the carb is the problem (already replaced the filter and pump).
It doesn't idle too well and I don't think the choke is working...
Wow, simple things fix big problems. I checked it in neutral and it was dry. In park, it was full. I should have known to check in neutral. Works like a champ now. Idle is ROUGH. Tune-up next and it looks like the balancer is shot. Lots of shaking at low RPMs and the rubber is coming out...
Transfercase was down two quarts. Sprayed the linkage but still won't move freely. Topped off and it seems to be getting better but still winding up the RPMs and not really moving too fast. Drove down the street and it won't upshift till about redline.
I have a transmission shop that will...
Is it ok to dress in woman's clothes???.......
Just kidding, I got the new truck running this morning. Tried to go for a little ride. Put it in drive and hit the gas. It took off FAST!! It was in 4 low. Shifted back to 4 High. (problem #1, took a TON of force to shift the transfer case)...
got her running tonight and actually backed it up so other cars can get in the driveway now. Smoothest running M880 yet!!!
Only half of the light bar is working :(
