Welcome Home K5,
I never get tired of reading about Banks installs and seeing pics..
think most of us are sitting on the fence on weather we want to sink another 2.5k into our trucks...
Bet its a good feeling to have more power under the hood though...
Big thanks go out to AIRMECH3839 (Tracy) who swooped in to save the day much like his CPT AMERICA avatar.
My recently acquired M1009 was on the fritz, had some electrical problems and was sitting deadlined at home. Well I'm out of town for a bit and my 16 yr old needed the truck to get...
Sorry to interupt:
Is your stock CUCV wiring harness intact?
mine has been all hacked up for 12v conversion by edward scissors hands.
would love to get ahold of a stock 24v harness if its not too bad off
let me know, also I'm in no hurry so can wait.

back to...
They are around, but Ive rarely seen them for sale.
most are either still in use, OR totally trashed or snatched up by other agencies instead of auction ( VFD's, SO, Police etc)
I'll post up a picture of a CUCVII pickup beign used as an ammo truck later.
I snapped this shot the other day...
Well an SS member near me has offered to take a look, so I'll see what I can work out locally, but if not I know you have a shop and experience, and not too far away from me in Augusta GA.
I was originally plannign on lettign it sit for a bit until I had time to work on it some more, only...
mines not a total basket case, but figured a shop or someone with experience would be more willign to tackle it then one without.
not to mention charge me accordingly and not add in extras just cause its a mil veh.
if I wasn't out of town workign for a while Id do most of it myself.
I...
thanks,
it doesn;t need a full resoration, just a little refurb here and there, mostly just needs a new wiring harness I think.
and a few bits tidied up here and there.
might have to get a civi wire harness and make it work
Ok, forgive me for not being able to search, but I'm on a really slow internet connection:
Is there a place that works on CUCV's? for example a place wher you could drop off your CUCV and they will strip it down and make it like new again?
They do this at several places over in the UK...
Id be scared to look at a schematic and compare to the wiring in mine, I don't think hardly any is stock..
its so rewired and bypassed... 12v conversion, push button glowplugs, most of the dash gauges don't work too well ( gen 1/2 works, speedo thats about it)
but there ain't nothign...
Rear seat belt
I need BACKSEAT pieces
Just to tag along, I need the left and right REAR pieces that bolt to the floor, both of mine were broken when I picked the truck up..
only rear seatbelt I have that works is the middle one.
yep thats what I'm talking about, the jeep speaker system...
I'm just installing an in dash system with two door speakers right now..
didn't really buy the truck with stereo in mind, if you know what I mean
the damn engine makes so much noise not sure what it would take to drown that...
I was flipping through my LMC catalog and noticed they have a replacement headliner that has built in speakers and a place ot mount a stereo,
might be a good way to retrofit a system..
never seen one in persn so may be cheap and crappy but its a good thought
Id like to weld in a roll...
so did you get it fixed?
Mine had a busted crank when I purchased it, I swapped in an almost complete hummvee motor, then it ran and dies, I had to swap the IP from the old engine over to the new engine. running good now, can't wait to get it home from my shadetree mech and start lookign...
thats good to hear..
for the brief period I got to drive mine down the highway I had the 2-3 inches of play in the steering wheel and the truck was all over the road...
so I'm sure I'll be fixing and adjusting several front end components, if I can keep the thing runnign for more then 5...
