You should be able to lift the trailer if needed to close the jack. Take pictures and show them that there was one on the trailer you bid on. I did this when my tarp was missing on a 101 and they pulled on from a lot that had not been listed.

Your fear is unfounded. Just use the extension with a pintle hook and you are GTG.

It should fit as far as I know. Does your trailer have holes for one? IIRC I had to drill a fourth hole in my A3 to mount one from an A2. The one in your pic only has 3, 2 can't be seen.
