    1953 M38A1 assistance

Yes, it's the 51 size battery. You should get a 51 and 51R (the R stands for reverse, I think). The 51R has the terminals on the opposite side of the battery, it is easier to hook them up than if you tried to hook up two 51's.

Install a dual reservoir master cylinder, it'll be easy they said... "Ourkit was designed to be an easy..." Sure for a person with an advanced degree in Hyperbolic Topology. And the piece de resistance...the final paragraph of the installation instructions, "With all that done you should be...

Grinding Caliper Travel Finally got the nerve to grind the caliper gap on my new knuckles for the disk brake installation. Grind, fit, grind, fit, ad infinitum - these are the next to last fitting. When done and filed to reduce the roughness it looks fairly decent. PRO TIP: Fill knuckle...

    Dualmatic Hub Lubrication

Can anyone point me to a resource for determining how to lubricate Dualmatic hubs? The are not represented in any of my manuals. They came on my M38A1 (1953) but I have no clue if they are original. They don't have the red lead primer underneath the paint.

Awesome. I hate to bother him because I know he's very busy...but I sent him an email this morning, I am looking for a pin jumper for my m38A1. I want one with the cables still attached so I can hook it up.I'll never use it but I am going for as close to original as possible. I also need an...

The Murphy Train Rolls On Got the disc brake backing plate installed - with very, very little help from the craptacular instructions. Got the rotors on (no pic) but am on hold until QTM can ship new nuts and washers for the spindle. Finally, a literal 6 months after removing them, I tore down...

All of my engine parts are NOS or take offs. The body parts are mostly reproductions. My first choice is QTM Restoration Parts (Chickamauga, GA). Matt (the owner) as many, many parts vehicles so he can either sell it to you new or used. Good guy to deal with and has good prices. He will...

    M38A1 Therapy Build with Pictures

You are never prepared enough, never have enough tools, never enough money, never enough time, or never enough knowledge to do a restoration. You have to just wade on in like John Wayne and watch a lot of YouTube videos! It's quite relaxing most of the time!

Re-tiring the un-retired M38A1 Huge milestone accomplishment this morning - putting the correct wheels / tires on "Murphy". We call the M38A1 "Murphy" 'cause if it can go wrong, it will, but we love him anyway. That's my 15 year old installing tightening up the lug nuts. We are doing this...

We are some UPS and Post Office waiting on fools. I'll be glad when Kaiser Willys starts delivering parts by drone.
