The first two pictures are A) my parts order shortly after I bought my 1953 M38A1 and B) right before I got married. Funny how a wife won't let you rebuild a front axle on the dining room table or stack parts so densely in the living room it's hard to get in the door. Weird. The third picture...
And the Army goes rollin' along...
Making serious progress the past few days. Got the front seats installed, back seat bracket, spare tire, Jerry can, and steering column adjusted. Those engineers at Willys were on their A-game when they made the steering column adjustable! I puzzled over...
I put an Omix radiator on my '53 M38A1. When I received it and saw how bad the manufacturing was, I called Walck's and complained. They said it would work fine, which it has, but that they really aren't very high quality. I am having my old one rebuilt just-in-case. So, in my case, it works...
Installing an AC oil pressure sensor, which comes with a resistor, making it compatible with 6, 12, and 24V. There are no instructions except to use the double resistor for 24V. There is a lug located on the resistor which I assume is for grounding (see picture). Question: to what do I ground...

Nice M38A1!
Try Beachwood Canvas; they called me last week and said they had found a few, so don't delay to much. Also, scour eBay, they occasionally show up there.
I had to replace the entire floorboard, all the way to the firewall, on my M38A1. Either my new floorboard is missing a hole with which to extend the clutch pedal or I am looking at something wrong.
Could someone please take a ruler and place it near the clutch pedal opening and take a picture...
COngrats and a Few Restoration Tips
CONGRATULATIONS:
Afew things you need to know to restore and M38A1:
Most of the parts were apparently, judging by the cost, made by Bavarian gnomes, made of unobtainium, and forged in Vulcan's furnace.
If they don't cost an arm and a leg, they don't fit...
Eyes! Bumper and pintle Hitch! Vacuum System! Gremlins!
I have been blessed with a productive streak and parts availability (thanks in large part to Matt @ QTM Parts).
The right and proper headlights were delivered and went in with only a modicum of fuss.
To the rear, I was able to attach...
