    FMTV door handle repair

Both of mine broke exactly where Rebuilders did. I found a machinist that is going to make me a set out of 4140. Hopefully I won't break the new ones :-)

    FMTV door handle repair

Yep. That's the part. Want to sell 2 of them?

    FMTV door handle repair

Has anyone come up with a good replacement for the trip lever on the earlier pull-up or pull-down door handles? The door handles in my 2004 M1088A1 had both been replaced at least once by the military before I got it (I assume due to broken trip levers). Passenger handle was broken again when I...

What i need to mount a M66 gun mount on my LMTV

The M66 will install directly on the FMTV LTAS cabs, but you need the kit for the standard FMTV cab. You need the mounting kit (or at least an adapter ring) to mount the HMMWV and MRAP rings and the gunner protection kits...

    Transporting Non-Runners

This is the last "non-runner" I got. My wife calls it the "used to be a truck". I hired a crane to load it at the GP lot and then another one to unload it when it got here. The non-runner before this one was all together and I hired a local driver that had a flat-bed with ramps and a winch. He...

    Ballistic Glass Turret for MWRAP

How did you cut the glass? I have some of that I need to get cut.

    M1083A1 or m923A2?

I am converting most of the 1088a1 into 1083a1p2 specs with the addition of the hunter gun box armor and the 1151 motorized turret with gunner protection kit. It won't be 100% accurate, but will be pretty close. Bed, subframe, framerail extensions, light boxes, rear cross-member for the pintle...

    M1083A1 or m923A2?

The stock pump is pretty low volume and slow. You would probably be happier with a standard PTO driven pump and the larger hydraulic tank. This would also allow you to use the side mounted winch in case you ever got stuck. I don't have a spare PTO, but have the winch, tank, mounts, interior...

    Source for frame bolts?

All three of mine use the 16mm x 1.5 mm flange bolts. They use the flange nuts for anything intended to be removable like the winch and a longer lock nut (looks like a huck nut, but designed to be put on with a standard impact wrench) for parts that aren't intended to be removed.

    M1083A1 or m923A2?

Tire carrier goes almost exactly to the center line on the passenger side. The very next thing is the hydro-pneumatic pump and tank for raising and lowering the cab, spare tire carrier, and suspension compression. If you wanted to make it a crawl-through tunnel, you could probably build a floor...

    M1083A1 or m923A2?

Agreed. There isn't much play in the lines and it is right up against the top of the tank in the 1088's so it can't go down any, but with some line extensions or new lines, I don't see a problem moving it. However, it shouldn't be in the way for a pass-through. You would probably need to move...

    M1083A1 or m923A2?

yes, I think it is within an inch or so. I can check tomorrow when it is light. For the crawl space, keep in mind that this is a cab-over. You need to make sure you can still easily tilt the cab to access the engine.

    Source for frame bolts?

Converting a M1088A1 into a M1083A1P2. The bolts to attach the winch, hydraulic tank, subframe, etc are all 16mm x 1.5mm flange/frame bolts. Most are 45mm long, but there are a few that are 35mm.

    Source for frame bolts?

Anyone have a source for the 16Mx1.5 frame bolts and lock nuts? I can find the 2mm course thread bolts, but having a difficult time finding the fine thread bolts and nuts from a US supplier.

    M1083A1 or m923A2?

The 1088A1's tend to be about 1/3 the price of a 1083A1 since everyone wants the cargo version. The frame is a little bit shorter (~8" or so), doesn't have the bed subframe of the 1083, and has the trans cooler vertical behind the cab instead of between the frame rails. The pintle mount plate...

    M1083A1 or m923A2?

I loved my 925, but the M1088A1 beats it in all 4 of those categories. It is more comfortable, more maneuverable, gets better gas mileage, and (my personal feelings) is a more reliable truck. All of the FMTV manuals are available electronically. If you are going someplace without internet, just...

    M1083A1 or m923A2?

I agree with Suprman. I have had an M54A2, M925, M1090, M1083A1, and M1088A1 and much prefer the FMTV's over the older vehicles. They are easier to drive, more comfortable, quieter, and there is a lot more room in the cab. Keep in mind that you are buying a used vehicle that the military...

License plate frame with LED lights...use on LMTV

I got one for my M1090 FMTV. The lights fell apart before getting it out of the package. I planned to fix them eventually, but never got around to it. Worked OK as a license plate frame, but there are a lot cheaper options that work better if you are willing to do some wiring.
