I have a 1955 M54-A2 . I had to replace a defective brake line. what type of brake fluid is okay to use in this system. The TM mentions not to use petroleum based brake fluid. Thats all it mentions. Some insight would be great. Thanks.
I have had the same problems with mine. This is known as the air governor. Before you dare to take the undaunting challenge of touching the adjustment, and it is adjustable, try checking the sending air line from the top of the air compressor that travels to the air governor and check that there...
Thankyou for the help. Would someone know who the manufacturer is or know of a cross reference for the retro fit. It is probably tired . It did appear to be in good shape though. Maybe I will try to replace the large o-ring inside the body housing.
Is there anyone familiar with making adjustment to the air system governor. I am looking to cut in at 65 psi. and to cut out at 110 psi. It is a 1954 M54-A2 Multifuel. I am not sure if the inner adjustment is for the low or high. And vise versa for the larger adjuster. Any help would be great.
Could someone point me in the direction to obtain an alternator for my Deuce. I use my Deuce to plow snow for the state and up here in New England we are getting more snow. I am in dire straights to obtain one. Perhaps someone knows of an aftermarket company in which I can make a retrofit. any...
I own a M54- The top speed, without pushing it , is 45mph. It does incorporate a sprague system for the drive trian. They work well. If considering to purchase one. Be sure to make a good operating inspection of these components. When shifting into reverse you should hear a nice hammer type gear...
Lets not loose sight in what these machines were designed for. These motors, especially the LDS,LDT, orLD's Spent many years in Olivers, Fergusons, and many other old farm tractors. Smoking while you are accelerating hard is okay. However, once you have levelled off you should be burning clean...
Yes I am also installing a Pyro. I was just wondering if there was a specific area that guys were using to install their boost gauge? So I guess I will ue the 1/8 inch tapping near the flame starter for the boost gauge. And the tapping in the air intake elbowfor the air filter indicator gauge...
My 5 ton has a LDS 465- 1A. Could someone tell me good locations for the boost gauge. That plug that is near my flame manifold heater looks like a good spot. How would the hole in the air breather elbow work? I do not have a filter indicator gauge currently in use so the opening is free to...
I know you can come up with a better name. No offense taken. She looks good and should be given a suitable name. When I bought my 5 ton it had letters across the front of the hood that spelled LUCKY .They look old and possibly original. Perhaps you could find a name for that nice truck as well.
My feelings exactly Henry. That would be the difference in the temp for that specific location. For some reason, maybe for labor purposes, big manufacturers put their pyro post turbo. I would surely like to see the reasons why, explained, to undestand. But I am with you on this one. Thanks.
Is there an illustration for the components inside the compressor filter assembly? I removed the two bolts, lowered the gasket, took out the spring, removed a collar that looks like it is the filter, and then I heard ching.....something fell and hit the floor. It got to dark for me to find...
