    Tie Rod End Removal

Waiting for the report back that violence and raw aggression fixed the problem!

Will start only with a squirt of starting fluid. Runs great once started.

@7Dust for what it is worth, my in-tank pump cranks out about 7-9 psi. Not that it would make much of a difference, as long as it moves fuel.

    Oil Leak Around Oil Filter

I had a pesky oil leak where the spin on adapter meets the block. Only torquing the retaining nut way above the specs fixed that. I have a spin on filter that leaks unless it is torqued ape-tight. the second one is fine. Go figure.

    Mlvw finally acquired

I am only mildly jealous! No MLVWs here in Ottawa.....well.....none that are buy-able.

    This one followed me home

Not sure what it is, but it looks like something John Rambo would use to drag dead enemies out of the forest! Polaris? Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

How should I do this? Rear trailing arm

Good effort! I nevertheless echo what was said before.....consider replacing the inserts. The consequences of a dog bone falling off while on the highway and the axle tilting, potentially shearing a U-joint etc. are likely ingredients for a bad day. I decided to feel the pain only once, took a...

    Soft top from scratch

That roof is exactly the right combo of sophisticated and crude looks that makes it appear bone stock! You certainly know what you are doing when fabricating; "luck" had little to do with the outcome; this looks very well and precisely made. The cab interior roof HAS to be blue, because who is...

    My first m35a1!..i think?

Also wanted to say that the REB kit for the front axle is a desirable upgrade. The sprag works, especially when the operator understands it and avoids "wind up". However, the REB converts the automatic engagement to a purely mechanical engagement with a lever. Prior to the air shift transfer...

    My first m35a1!..i think?

I am not a gasser expert - other on this site are - but the ones I have seen had the standard "car" like shift pattern. The wonky shift pattern for the multifuel came out of necessity for an OD gear for the lower revving engine. Stands to reason that, as gassers got parts replaced, they were...

    My first m35a1!..i think?

I see that the data plate with the shift pattern appears to be showing the multifuel shift pattern (both 3 and 4 away from the dash). Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

Timing 180 degrees out, radiator replacement - Matt fixes his Deuce

Collaboration with C&C Equipment (sponsor on this site). - truck will only start with ether - truck will not idle well when cold - low on power All signs of timing 180 degrees out. Matt does a decent job wrenching on the Deuce. Fun to watch if you have done this work before and it actually...

M35A3 CARC Paint "Detailing" / Protective coating?

Fans of classic car "patina" use linseed oil applied with a rag. Maybe give it a try and see? Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

    16R20's fitment without rubbing

Not sure what you were reading, but 16.00R20 are 52" tires. The largest that you can fit on a stock Deuce is 46". That means 12.00R20, 11.00R20 and 395/85/20. The latter leave room for a sheet of paper between them and, because they are MPT tires, they ought to run on a rim that fits these...

deuce accessory switch handle - weird shape?

I am sure there were...interesting...incidents to make the military want this. I am wondering...do all the M35 have this oddly shaped switch, including the gasoline powered trucks? Or is something specific to the multifuel? I suspect, for consistency, they all have it, but I wonder where the...

    Torque rod nut torque

@Kacykl you are right, as I stare at my phone screen with a jaundiced eye. OK, but now I have THIS: TM 9-2320-361-20 ; 7-22 TORQUE RODS REPLACEMENT ; p 7-51 and p 7-52 ; The lower image on p 7-53 shows the torque rod (22) and the nuts ( 18 ) and (21) and it says 175-200 ft lbs (237-271 Nm)...

    Torque rod nut torque

The 361 series 34 says "Tighten nuts (5) 200-275 lb-ft (271-373 N.m)." This is the newest series of TM and the one I would trust. TM 9-2320-361-34 0-8. FORWARD-REAR AND REAR-REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (Contd) page 10-46 Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk
