    6.2l Rebuild service

I gently disagree. There a subtle differences. Biggest issue is compression and head to short block gaskets. Not saying you’re wrong BUT I prefer a Diesel shoppe.

Door hinge nutsert issue- how to fix?

Weld a 3/4” arm to the nut. It will block the it from spinning. A dab of silicone or JB Weld, and it will stay in place for reuse. [Edit - if you don’t have a welder, cut and tap a thin piece of flat stock that is 3/4” long. Then JB Weld or silicone in place.]

    Tie rod end help

The best thing to do when you change tire rod ends is remove the unit entirely from the vehicle and then count the number of threads. Then try to re-create the number of threads and the measured distance from the rod to the threaded pipe. You can also use the three blocks of wood method. You...

Door hinge nutsert issue- how to fix?

Alternatively, get a circular wood hole/dowel maker and drill out the area behind the bolt/rivnut and push through. Simple and fast and clean. Cover with duct tape and paint drab green.

Fuel System Troubleshooting and final resolution (IT WAS THE SOCK)

Hey Mogman: Sock was mentioned in Post #2. 😁 [EDIT - Just to be clear, I’m teasing Mogman. I’m not trying to insult the OP.]

    REV overheating - normal?

Replace with OEM. Record, champion makes an Aluminum 4 core unit. Cheap. Easy to obtain. Some people claim problems with quality, no quality problem on my spare radiator.

Fuel System Troubleshooting and final resolution (IT WAS THE SOCK)

Sounds like wrong pump AND use grease or Vaseline to keep pushrod up in place. It harmlessly washes out once you start the engine.

Using 4l80 in Humvee with LS?

HummerH1 deleted all the xfer case cooling and he has almost 300,000 miles. He also has M998 so no diff cooling.

6.2 splashing from the intake when cold

RWH, one of the most experienced, has said run the engine hard. I would suggest also change the oil. Winter is coming so try lower viscosity.

    Power steering whine

Jack car front up to 15 degrees. Then turn lock to lock 40 times. Then let sit overnight.

Radiator Fan ....... "turn off" Switch

Might be a great idea for towing uphill in the Summer. Loss of HP better than loss of engine block.

Fuel System Troubleshooting and final resolution (IT WAS THE SOCK)

No definitive. Diaphragm and unit can fail many different ways

Fuel System Troubleshooting and final resolution (IT WAS THE SOCK)

If this is truly a lifter problem, you need to replace it immediately before Diesel fuel gets beyond the diaphragm and thins out the oil and you score your cylinders and bearings or even seize the engine.
