Just keep one thing in mind. You may like the "noisier the better" idea, but that may not be the case with the guy sitting in the Prius next to you, your neighbor, or the local busybody who can't stand to see anything outside his/her comfort zone.
Just be sure to try not to do anything that...
Just be sure to connect to the + and - leads which go back into the truck. Not the short cable between the two batteries, or the Solargizer will not charge your batteries.
Possibly a motor mount transmitting some harmonic vibration into the frame?
Bad body mount making it seem like there is more vibration than there really is?
Exhaust contacing the body and/or frame?
I'd also see what your insurance company has to say. Many (not all) of the insurers of MV's require them to be kept in a locked garage. If something were to happen to the vehicle on the street, they may frown on that, or refuse any claim.
I paid $400 for mine and it was very solid, just missing the heater and fan. Didn't want them anyway though.
I've seen anywhere from $300 and up, and condition doesn't always seem to be the biggest factor. Just what someone is willing to pay I guess.
All very helpful! Thank you!
I haven't paid close attention to the interior stuff yet. Mostly just a lot of schematics, but I will see if I can discern what may have been inside in the past.
Thanks for the pic!
Seems that there are a lot of varieties of plates from the few pics I have been able to scare up on the net.
Mine appears to have had 4 or 5 only. I don't know the exact use it had, so I can't be sure of which plates were used, but I would like to find at least...
I have started working on my S250G and I'm getting it painted and ready to install into my M715.
I have the main plate on it that shows the dimensions and its in great shape, but all the others have been removed. There appears to have been 4 and possibly even 5 other plates. The rivets...
Aside from the "not farting when backing" warning, I find that low range is your friend when backing in a tight spot. Of course the house might get pushed off its foundation if you don't stop in time.......
Yep, if the frame is good, just hit the local glass shop for a piece of safety glass. Mine was $50 installed in my old frame. I just unscrewed the frame and dropped it off to the glass shop and picked it up the next day.
Purple DOT 5 will turn yellow after a long time. Not sure why, but I have had a few containers of it that were half used, and sat on my shelf for a long time (4-5 years) and they turned yellow.
It seems that these days, in most states, the procedure is to title the vehicle in the name of whoever has posession, even if it isn't tagged or used. This is to preserve a chain of paperwork for the vehicle from origin to current owner.
Here in VA and many other states, "kiting" or...
Personally, I avoid GL like the plague anymore. After a couple of reallllllly slow experiences (always got my stuff) I just got fed up.
I buy from individuals now. I do pay more, but my stress level is lower, and I get to meet a lot of fellow enthusiasts who don't mind doing the GL dance...
That is pretty much what I was going to suggest.
Just hit the local auto parts store and pick up one of those cheap little "ticker" electric fuel pumps. Plumb it into the line, hook it up to a 12 volt battery and let it fill your containers. It is a bit slow, but it will get the job done...
I have an M715 with a fuel injected Big Block Chevy, TH-400, Power steering and power brakes. I consider it an MV still. Still has a folding shield, canvas top, OD paint, blackout lights and stars on the doors.
Watch out when buying. I bought 3 different cables that were listed as CX-10613's and they were wrong. Luckily they were cheap. Fair Radio does have the ends. (or did about 3 months ago)
I ended up modifying a cable that was similar and then adding two ring terminals to the paired wiring...
