    Why go green?

Noise comparison: The day I bought my 802 I immediately stopped by my brother's house to get an operational crash course. It was being towed behind my 3500 Duramax idling on the street. From the side yard (75'-ish) we couldn't tell which was louder...idling Dmax or running 802. I have a 2800...

    Why go green?

For starters (and I'm sure I'll be corrected) every video of a MEP-802/3 ran to load is always banked above 100%...so I just watched an 803 banked at 13kw which gauged to 120%. At home I've banked my 802 with approx 6900w that gauged 100% load. Let's talk use and abuse. There's a reason why...

Mep-802a - amp meter not working.

My Amp meter is also misbehaving. When the set is on but not running the meter and fuel gauge are spot on. When the set is running both gauges bounce erratically in the general area of the actual reading. I suspect a loose shared ground connection...tho I haven't made the time to refrence the TM...

    MEP 04 B

Welcome to the party, pal! I'll take the stiction and additive question for $100, Pat. Stiction: it’s kind of a funny word that seems almost made up, but for many diesel owners stiction is a very real thing and it’s no laughing matter. Stiction — a combination of static and friction — occurs...

Fuel drain cock leaking, help needed please.

If it's the external bung o-ring leaking,, the first trick I would try is to to change out to a Viton ring. Research the part he installed to find the proper size. If the bung has failed for some reason, have him refrence the "ultimate well nut repair" to see parts and techniques that are known...

    M1008 starter running-on

Please don't hack into a harness to do the relay mod without verifying the remaining possible culprits are behaving. The ignition switch is easy to check. Verify starter is still stuck on by momentarily connecting the batteries. If still misbehaving, disconnect the column harness and try the...

    M1008 starter running-on

A hung starter can be a few different things with this platform courtesy of the design GM has employed for nearly 40 years. The stuck relay is only one probability that is unique to the 24v CUCV. Example, our fire district has a 1008 that the Forest Service modified back to a 12v system...so...

    M1008 starter running-on

Some of the purists (aka old guys) that have been working these trucks their entire careers like @cucvrus will tell you that the original design is tried & true with the Army running the snot out of many of these units and never added complication to a simple circut. Some swear by it, some...

    M1008 starter running-on

About a month ago there was an identical thread about this very subject. Do a little searching back and you'll find it. Lots of info for all the variables from solenoid to ignition switch. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

    Another 802A thread...but finally it's "my" 802

New test: backfeed the house...simulated power outage. For the record, this process can be deadly if done out of sequence. There are zero safeguards, and it goes in direct violation of the NFPA NEC. I consulted my highly qualified professional electrician before I went down this rabbit hole to...

    M1009 Master Cylinder

I sourced a CUCV master cylinder and booster last year to upgrade my K25. Zero difference in parts from over the counter in a similar era Squarebody (78-86). GM always calls for DOT-3 in the Civvy trucks, so that's what I stick with. In contrast with the power steering, I've had better behavior...

I'll be down in Riverside next month for my military duties. If you still have it when I get down there I'll arrange a time to stop by. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

    Replacement Fuel Tank

No, I quoted your post about the skid plate. Our FD CUCV doesn't have a skid plate. None of my Squarebodies have ever had a skid plate. All the OE skid plates on GMT400/800 chassis have plastic skid plates on the tanks. Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk

    Looking for specifications axis M101 A3 3/4

@Ronald-Holland double check the UOC as Guy exercised above. I'm 99% sure the cable part you referenced is for an A1 chassis, and you have an A3 chassis. It may be worth the gamble if you can figure out a way to adapt it to your A3, but it is definitely not the correct part. Sent from my...

Any Issue in Covering the Hubs of an M1102

They're the most ideal for me...because, reasons. Hahaha I have the same wheel & tire combo running on my 03 Suburban, 78 K25, M101A3, and my M116A3...and they all have matching spares, Suburban has 2 matching spares. My 03 Silverado has the same rubber but is on Alcoas for being DRW. These...
