Got all my M35A2 LED lights working....for a little bit. Anyone worked on LED's with success?

I second verifying ground, cleaning and putting a dab of dielectric grease on them when reassembling. Then on to the switches, as suggested. In my experience, light gremlins after sitting/storage are mostly corroded grounds. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

Which military truck is the most capable? Good survival vehicle?

My 5 cents are that the OP is perhaps not familiar with the types and classes of vehicles that the OP is looking for info on. Is off-road capability (extreme) really a need in a SHTF scenario? Or would most movement not occur along some form of established pathway? Even a tracked vehicle has...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I have a nice grade here in the neighbourhood; about a mile long and a good 200ft elevation change. Known as "The Hill". I run this in 5th, boost goes up to 10-12, EGT climbs to 1000-1050 but no downshift required. Yes, I am bragging! :) It is an excellent place to detect that the protective...

    Budd rim for 12.00 dual

If you can stuff the 12.00 duals in there, I definitely want to see a picture! It will look massive! A truck that means business! :)

    Budd rim for 12.00 dual

Normally, a rim with a larger offset than the 10.5 inches the stock rim offers would be the solution. The problem I see is that increased offset makes the whole dual wheel package wider in both directions. On the inside there is not enough room for that. That tells me that one needs to push the...

    Budd rim for 12.00 dual

12.00R20 will fit onto the stock Deuce rims, however, without a spacer between the rims, the tires will likely touch one another under load (a no-no). Also, you need to check the inner clearance to your frame and suspension; on a stock Deuce there is insufficient clearance to run 12.00R20 as...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Queen Lola is home from 5 months in storage. It is OFFICIALLY Spring now. She started right up - as if she had run only yesterday. Slow fuel drip from a fitting at the secondary filter (which I should have fixed last Fall but didn't). Runs like a champ. 50 mph at under 2000 rpm (gotta love the...

    Turn Signal Troubleshoot

Great that cleaning the contacts worked! The other issue is simply the lack of quality in many of the turn signal flasher units currently on the surplus market. They are fully potted and members experienced in electronic repair stated that repairing the manufacturing defects in these units is...

Cylinder Liner broken pieces in oil pan

Great making those videos. They will help someone jump off the cliff and tear into one of the LDT/LDS engines for the first time!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Truck is still in storage; ground still too wet to park her on the grass. Will she need work when she stretches after the winter rest? She will tell me, I have no doubt about that!!

    Air pump cfm?

7 cfm, give or take. I think the exact spec is 7.25 at 1250 rpm. There is apparently not much difference between the Midland/Bendix units (single/twin cylinder). I can confirm that the single cylinder I run right now is as weak as the twin I had before for running air tools. But, that is not...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

FWIW, I got my axle boots from rockwelloffroad. They are intentionally a tad oversized and that makes mounting a lot more pleasant. Holding up well so far (3 years). Not affiliated, just a satisfied customer: https://www.rockwelloffroad.com/product-page/2-5-ton-heavy-duty-boot-dust-seal-set-of-2

New to M35, getting started, where am I leaking?

If there is that much slop, it might be worth checking the pinion bearings, too. Otherwise the new seal will start to leak in short order. Look at this thread for a few tips: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/rockwell-pinion-bearing-help-please.156915/ If you end up needing bearings...

Issues with my Deuce that need attention

Most people use DOT air line for return lines without problems. Make sure to use the brass inserts in the ends of the line. They look like little trumpets and prevent the compression nut from cutting through the line. You can be...um.. detail oriented and get the correct ferrules. Or you can...

Good video! What was the noise like? Like a tug boat? chug chug chug?

Custom wheels - Problem, questions, help.

@montaillou Truck looks good with the new shoes. I like the solid wheels as well. They do look like steelies but I gather they are aluminium. These tires will not be challenged with the weight of the truck! 11R24.5 are so common at truck tire shops. Wise choice for future-proofing.
