You could check the tie rods end. My buddys' 1008 had the death wobble. brought it to a shop. They said all was good. We checked again and found both tie rod ends were toast. Cost us about 200 for new ones.

Try getting a signed, notorized inspection signed by law enforcement or motor vehicle rep from your area. I used this approach near me.
Real good price. I had 3 rebuilt up in N.Y. cost me 160 a piece. I priced a new one at Pep boys and they quoted $560-. So I figure it is a great deal. I used to rebuild my own in "the old Days". Now it seems that between getting the rebuild kit, testing the unit, and putting it back in, Its...
Are we talking hypothetical here? I know for a fact that the 923 I drove in Germany back in the 80s' would go a little faster. In fact I replaced the governor bolt on the front of the injector pump and let it drive to 5 MPH! That is, the speedometer needle spun past 60, past the MPH, and was...
I'm having a small problem eith one of mine too. When I hit the brakes hard in 2wd it pops out of gear. I have to shift into 4 low to reengae it. I'm gonna get my spare rebuilt then swap it out. It seems that most people overlook checking the level and changing the fluid.
I had the fortune of being there 2x. foriegn dtuff too. Camp Taji had a bunch of soviet track/ tanks and a few 105 self propelled. If I only had a bigger duffle bag!!!!
I priced the alternator at "believe it or not" PEP BOYS for $560-, they had the part number in the computer special order. I almost had a cow. I went to a rebuild shop and $165 each they completely rebuilt it with guarentees.
The number 310 could be 3rd platoon . as said earlier the rh number is assigned today for accountibility purpouses. My last unit we used the 1st numer of the 3 digit number refered to the platoon . 3 . 1 would be the squad1st. and 0 would probable mean 1st vehicle in that squad.
I just won the A2 harness on ebay. I called Maine and they want $675- for an A1 harness. I think that is a little steep. So I'll spend a little time converting the A2 harness to use. Does anyone know the website for the guy from Smyrna De? I'm looking for an exhaust and a few other tidbits...
I spent 2 years in Iraq myself. Up armored HMMVs were under powered but took one helleva beaten. My 1st tour in Falluja 2003 we didn't even have armor!!! We were the luckiest SOBs on earth. Believe it or not the Shell back HMMVs'with polymer doors repelleled 7.62 rounds. Not straight on. I...
Thanks for the insight. I used to be a 63B a hundred years ago. I worked on A2s' for a while. just never had to bust my knuckles on any A1s' I'm looking forward to the challenge though.
Does anyone know what if any differnces the M151A2 wiring harness has to work in an M151A1. I bought an A1 a few weeks ago and saw a harness on Ebay for an A2. any insight would be helpful. thanks.
