What did you do to your deuce this week?

Installed my green, then red, now green again aluminium M35A3 fuel tank on my A2. Nice to have a non-rusting, non-flaking clean tank. I used 2 1/2 inch fire hose, cut open, using only the inner sleeve that is fabric on one side and rubber on the other as underlay. Installed NOS driver...

    air valves

The glad hands are a standard truck supply item (that is probably why they went AWOL on your truck). Just get a pair at any truck stop and screw them in.

New to me m59 dump truck...

I am planning a petition to suspend the seasons. I can't deal with shorter and shorter daylight hours where you can't get anything done after coming home from work, falling leaves that stick to my fresh paint and constant threat of rain showers when I am working on my truck outside. I want June...

So your **** door does not close right? - here is a few tips - door adjustment

How to remove, replace the door and how to rehab interiors (glass, window channels, locks etc.): http://www.jatonkam35s.com/DeuceTechnicalManuals/TM9-2320-361-24-2.pdf (TM 9-2320-361-24-2) Swapping the door was straightforward. The problem was that the door, new hinges and all, did not sit...

Installing an M35A3 aluminum fuel tank on an M35A2

Mine has a military vintage JB weld fix on top from where constant drip from the cargo bed has put a hole into the tank. Also, a steel tank will eventually rust and flake inside, causing issues. An aluminium tank simply won't. Alternatively, you can have your steel tank boiled and then coated by...

Random maintenance tip - crud at the bottom of the pop-out cab air vent

Just spent half an hour trying to fish the door opening limiter rod out of the hollow area where the pop-out cab vent sits. I was surprised how much crud and leaves and general dirt collects in there. Open the vent, grab the spring from the outside and gently push it down and in to unhook it...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I swapped out the driver door for a NOS one. What a pain in the arse that was (doing it alone). Stripped 4 of the 8 hinge bolt heads. Door is not adjustable, other than by gently "persuading" and I am still not happy how it sits. Also, the hinges have hinge PINS, not BOLTS and the pin is so...

    Fender weatherstripping/body gasket

Karl Kostman, that nanme was what I needed! Fender beading or fender welt. Plenty of sources, 1/4 inch bead, 1 1/2 inches wide. Hard to search for stuff without the right name! Updated title; maybe it helps someone else.

    Fender weatherstripping/body gasket

Fender weatherstripping/body gasket - fender welt - fender bead I know I saw it somewhere here long ago but cannot find it - where can I get the gasket/weatherstripping between the front fender and the cab? Any specs etc. on it?

    Question

When you consider that the truck is some 40 years old and left regular military maintenance and repair about 10-15 years ago, I can guarantee you from my own experience as a Deuce owner that this will NOT, ever, be "the only" problem. I consider myself fairly meticulous maintaining my truck...

    Skipping deuce

If #5 does not get any/enough fuel or not at the right time, the culprit sits before you even get into the engine. A seeping head gasket or leaky rings are not even on the radar, yet. Could be a clogged injection line also. I know you changed out the HH and it did not improve the situation. I...

    1953 m35a1?

We have a few members here that have gasser M35 trucks and are knowledgeable about the OA-331 Gold Comet 331 ci engine and the parts needed to tune it up. There is a conversion to civilian spark plugs and also a list of cross-over part numbers for the ignition components. Most other stuff is...

Who is selling adapter plates now?

It is a different look than the massive 395's but a GOOD look! It is an "improved on the original" kind of appearance. I am sure the commercial 22.5 tires are great. You almost have to maintain the duals for looks; the 22.5 are quite skinny tires and probably would look odd, singled out.

LDS/LDT accessory belt length with and without power steering pump

If I was smelling burnt toast, I'd be worried I'd have a stroke. Not sure what I was thinking and where that brain fart came from. I had even looked at the gear drive of the pump, noting that it is indeed a gear-driven pump. Thanks for answering my not-very-intelligent question anyway!

LDS/LDT accessory belt length with and without power steering pump

I have a Vickers power steering pump off a 5ton multifuel to go onto my LDS. Does anyone know whether different belt lengths are required - and what they are - or does the pump fit right into the existing belt pathway?
