    M1009 Gen2 light flickers.

Also check for loose connectors on the back of the alternator. Both positive and negative. I agree the regulator probably is the issue. However, I had a slight flicker only when driving on some roads. I ignored it. After a few weeks it happened anytime I moved the truck. Turns out the bolt...

    No Start, Engine Spins slowly

I agree batteries are 99% probably your problem. However, a severly damaged starter motor from the under volt starting attempt could now be part of the problem too. I had a battery go bad, slow starting for 3 starts and then nothing unless I was hooked to a running slave cable vehicle. I...

    Flashing Gen Lights (Both)

I agree. Chances are that since it is both of them doing the same thing. It is probably a common point. Passenger side bus bar and drivers side thru firewall plug are two known areas that need to be clean and tight. After that you are under the dash.

    M725 engine and trans cost/availability

I second what George wrote. I got 5 of those silly engines and transmissions sitting in the back of a M35 right now. They were all free to me and I will let them go free. You have to get them out of the M35 though. I don't have a loader anymore. Be patient and a good set up will appear...

Chevy/ Gmc 6.2 diesel gearbox swap

1985 Chevy K30 with the J code 6.2 diesel clutch, flywheel and pressure plate is what you need. Any auto parts store here in the US will have those parts. I put those exact parts on my 6.2 in the M715 with a NV4500 behind it. You will need to change out your 6.2 starter to the large opening...

Chevy/ Gmc 6.2 diesel gearbox swap

What year exactly is the truck you are doing this to? 2wd or 4x4? If it is a square body (1973-1987 single cab or the square Suburban, Blazer and 4 door until 1991). They had large tunnel and small tunnel floors depending on 4x4 or not. I don't think the NV4500 will fit in the small tunnel...

The rescuer becomes the rescuee (M35A2 issues)

Chris is correct about face to face meeting someone. I make it a point to only use the real names of people I have met in person. They are also normally the only people I will even attempt humor with. That doesn't go over too well though and I have pretty much stopped trying to be funny...

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

I emailed to your gvtc account. It is a pdf and I can't seem to get it to load here.

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Mark, I did the solid state blinker conversion on my M35 Gasser. Should be the exact same number and letter wires you are working with. Do you have a pin out diagram of each wire from the blinker switch? I found that my best resource. I will look around for the one I used. It might say M715...

The rescuer becomes the rescuee (M35A2 issues)

As I wrote yesterday. Interesting comments here. Colton and I took the truck for a test drive yesterday. 10 miles out we stopped to check things over and found oil on the passenger side of the truck. We were all excited about how it was running great, a little bit down on power, but running...

The rescuer becomes the rescuee (M35A2 issues)

I was thankful for that Chris. I had the impact driver ready to go just in case. I think every one of those screws was stuck when I pulled the Gasser apart years ago.

The rescuer becomes the rescuee (M35A2 issues)

I see traces of a small leak between the flex pipe and J pipe. I just stuck my head in there for a fast look waiting for my forearms to stop throbbing after doing those 10 way too long screws to get the pump off and on.

Water leak at top of M1009 doors

Bending the top will be attempted. I just hesitate to try bending something like that on purpose. Which is why I started this thread. Both M1009 trucks have had new hinge pins and bushings over the years. The body lines are lined up straight. Thanks for all the suggestions.

The rescuer becomes the rescuee (M35A2 issues)

Some interesting comments. Thanks for the support those that offered it. Most of my post on any website are written to help others that might encounter the same issue some time down the road. I don't make post just so I can see my name on the computer screen. I also write in what I think is...

Water leak at top of M1009 doors

The M1009, RED, that Colton built up has M1008 doors on it. The only difference I have ever found is that the M1009 has rubber seals on the top of the door in addition to the cab mounted rubber seal. My M1009 has the door mounted seals. My USAF Suburban does not have the door mounted seals...

The rescuer becomes the rescuee (M35A2 issues)

Kenny probably nailed the cause. It pushes pressure just fine with the pump on and engine off for filter bleeding. Yet won't keep the engine going at any sensible rpm. Until it sits a while as I did waiting for Jennifer last night. I also never heard any splashing or other sounds associated...

Lens covers. I am sorry Mark. I was so happy to make it home from the air show that I forgot all about them until reading this thread today. I will look at home and send you pictures. Sorry.

There are a lot of people hurting around here. We have been praying for rain for years now. We got it!

Deuce Winch Issue - grinding under load

Chapter 18 of TM 9-2320-209-34-2-3 covers the winch. Put some cardboard or something between the winch and the radiator when you go to pull it. I learned that expensive lesson the hard way.
