I started some work on 2 more trailers; one has REALLY bad rust damage and will need extensive surgery in order to restore it. I have some 3/16-inch steel sheet I will use to weld in patch panels, after cutting out the cancerous ones.

You could weld/bolt on a surge brake coupler, remove the air lines, and run the brakes as straight hydraulic. Surge brake couplers can even be obtained with lunette eyes. That way you could tow it with any 3/4-ton or larger vehicle.

The fuel return line should take care of excess pressurized fuel by returning it to the fuel tank, shouldn't it?

At the last auction it sold at, it was sold for charity for wounded veterans (or so the listing stated).

Bob brings up a good point about the Cat switches; I own a D4 and have been operating several different Cats this past year. Each and every one could have the switch operated with a small pair of needle-nose pliers. My cousin called his pliers his "universal Caterpillar key."

Very nice! Nice touch with the garden hose for a cable protector; I usually use large-diameter fuel line, but the garden hose is cheaper and just as effective! Good job!

It's not a walking-beam suspension, it's more like the old 6-rod suspensions...except in this case it's a 4-rod (referring to the dog bones).
