I don't have it. Here is what my reply screen looked like before I started typing:

    Identification request

Does your fast idle/cold start advance work? It might be the plug for their sensor. It is located as far back as possible on the fender side of the passenger head.

    M1008 fuse box/electrical issue?

The dash lights, brake lights and tail lights are all part of the same circuit. It seems you found the fuse that controls it. It also sounds as if you have a short somewhere in the system. somewhere, a wire with power on it is grounding out. The only help we can really give you is to follow...

2002 Windows XP. They are supposed to be upgrading us soon. However, we shop teachers have been told our classes are too dirty for a new computer.

    rear battery terminal melted

When you write that you had the alternators rebuilt. Did you let the rebuilder know they were isolated ground alternators? That big spark was probably an alternator killing itself. The resistor on the firewall is for stepping down the stock glow plug power from 24 volts to 12 volts. It will...

I posted in another thread from home with Safari and everything worked as it was supposed to. It really must be the stupid work computer. Thanks for the help.

    Starting problems...again

Get 8 female crimp connectors with the new glow plugs. The terminals are different. When you pull the new ones you just put in, look for markings just below the threads. There will be a maker and a number on there somewhere.

    Starting problems...again

As pointed out above. Throwing parts at it is not the way to fix the problem. "Mil spec" can mean a lot depending on who wrote it. What exact part number glow plugs did you put in? Search for any of the many threads dealing with glow plug resistor bypass procedures. Do that and I would...

Hmm. It did it again. I had spaces between those last few sentences and they were thrown together like I can't write right.

    Paragraph separation

I really hate long run on paragraphs on internet forums. I try real hard to keep mine 3-5 sentences and at least a double space before the next one. I have made two post today and both had at least 3 paragraphs when I wrote them. Yet, they posted as a big block. Any idea what is causing...

HMM... M1009's really do have an extra spring leaf in the front

I have seen magazine or internet write ups for years that talk about how the M1009 has an extra spring leaf on the front making it a 3/4 truck compared to the 1/2 civilian K5 Blazer. I have treated them as most things on the internet or in magazines should be treated, blah, blah, blah. We all...

M1009 aka RED project under way

It took him almost 3 hours, but he did the lift pump swap and has a greater appreciation of jobs that look simple now. We put a few hundred miles on it this week and are getting right at 18 mpg for two tanks. We put in a new spin on filter as part of the lift pump bleeding process. There sure...

    Rubber Plugs

I just got some for both of my M1009's. Rubber cork was the key word at the local Ace hardware. I tried several sizes and found what they call a 1 inch fit in flush with the outside. I only tried it on one side of my M1009. Of course it didn't fit as good on the other side or on RED...

M1009 aka RED project under way

He dropped the transmission pan, cleaned it, replaced the filter and put in 1.5 gallons of fluid this morning. While it was warming up to get the fluid level just right we saw what looked like coolant dripping from the front axle. Turned out to be fuel. The lift pump is leaking. We had...
