over time it will break down the rubber in the fuel system. If you replace the hoses with Viton or similar and keep a spare filter on board it would be fine. Theres an alternative fuel section on this site that would yield more info
Well I'm not going to be towing, off-roading, or sled pulling at 70. Will it "cruise" ok without cycling in and out of overdrive everytime i hit an incline? It does great with the stock tire size but I'm considering a lift and tires.
Its not changing the filter that does it. Its changing the fluid. If it was serviced regularly during its life it would be fine but most don't change the trans fluid regularly and it causes issues when it is done late in the transmissions life. It all depends on how "dirty" the old fluid was...
try the rest of the gears, not just D and R. Sometimes if the old fluid was burnt or full of clutch material the new fluid will cause the trans to fail. If no gears work at all suspect the torque converter or pump.
It doesn't sound like a tv issue to me. It sounds like an internal issue like skinny is saying. Something is letting pressure by or not letting fluid by as quick as it is supposed to.
What do you mean by delay? Does it stay in second to long? Does it free rev? Does it "slip"? Do you have the right governor and tc? The tv adjustment is made by pushing in the D shaped retainer and pushing the adjuster all the way in. Then put the fuel pedal to the floor and it adjusts...
Any reputable diesel shop should be able to help you out. Locally they want about 600 to rebuild them. There is a guy on flea-bay that does them for 270 plus core. He has come highly recommended on some other boards for good work and prices. Although I don't think he replaces "everything" like...
I daily drove my m1008 for a couple of years and all I had to do was basic maintenance. Then the injector pump took a poop. Parked it for the better months and now that the colds coming back around I found a whole 6.2 700r and transfer case for 500 buck. So do some swapping around and back down...
I got one from oreillys, worked for both. If i remember right it was only $25. Just have to read the package and get the right one for the right year truck/axle
Yeah, thin skinned would be about right. Been a rough couple of days. Don't mean to take it out on you guys. Just want to get the stuff ordered so I can get some zzzz's.
Thanks for the help. I am the tech. The truck is 45 minutes up the road from me and I haven't looked at it in months.
If I'm just going to get flamed for asking a simple question then I guess this will be the last time I ask one here.
Yes I did a search. I'm not looking for the injector return lines. I'm looking for the feed and return line for the pumps and filter, etc. Basically the ruber that in the rest of the truck. But thanks for those links they will help when ordering those particular lines. There are literally...
I am ordering viton fuel line to replace whats on the truck now. At the same time i'm having the ip and injectors rebuilt and converting to spin on filters. I don't have access to the truck at the moment so what I need to know is a rough idea of how much rubber line is actually on the truck...
