Ok so I just did a napa base and filter. Filled the fuel filter and installed. The truck fired right up and ran for 15sec then died. Ok out of fuel. Cranked and cranked with no difference. So then I cracked open every injector line on the head, I'm getting fuel at each one. So cranking now it...
Well I tried to get myself tail lights today. There were four colors being used on the old bed setup and a four color plug on the blue bed. Matching colors; a yellow, a green, a dark green, and a black or maybe dark gray. Butt spliced them together (all switches off, including mil toggles) and...
Picked this bad boy up Friday morning. Drove all night Thursday from Indiana to Pennsylvania to get her. Local fire departments brush truck. Had a big work bed on the back, they just snipped all the wires so that kinda stinks. Otherwise it's a pretty nice, solid seeming truck. Supposedly 10,200...
Kinda accidentally bought this on GP this week lol. No one else bid at all which I didn't expect. Sadly shipping is costing me twice the price of the truck:roll: .
Hopefully some rust free cab parts and maybe better axles for my 1008. No transmission or t case.
ddoohhhhh
Unexpectedly won an auction on govplanet today. It's a beat down m1028 with maintenance body. Non running, no transmission or transfer case. It's in saraland AL which is supposedly 819mi from me. I'm in NW Indiana, LaPorte or Michigan City area.
I haven't bought anything off GP in 5-6yrs so I...
I'm looking to up my tire size to something around 35s on stock skinny rims. I've seen on a few toyota and landcrusier forums that people are running military 8.25R16s and that they measure out around 34in. Does anyone have any input on these tires, or know of skinny 35in tires that will fit...
I bought a 1986 M1008 on eBay a few weeks ago and noticed while picking it up there is only one battery and one alternator. It runs, drives, and starts fine. Was used by a fire department as a plow truck.
I don't have a volt meter or anything but going off of that I would assume it has been...
I just bought a 2012 dated complete kit new in crate for $299 on evilbay. Hope to use it this weekend to drag my non runner from my parents house to mine. From what I've read the black medium bars didn't have the issues with breaking.
Town next to me got two slantbacks 2yrs ago. Looked to be in great shape, they had them painted up black at a local shop. They have sense sat in the same spot in the police parking lot unused. Keep thinking one day I may go there and ask to see the insides to take some notes for my own slantback...
Yes they work, you must machine out the centers ever so slightly. They stick out slightly more so you must be mindful of body contact. Upside is they are cheap, weigh much less and open up a larger portion of tire availability being they are 17in rims.
Just went to the DMV today with a police vin inspection and SF97. At first the lady was a little confused that my name wasn't on the sf97 form but her supervisor said it was all good. Didn't care one bit about the off-road only stamp. Wwweeee Indiana :)
I'm attempting a head gasket swap and with a simple easy tug I broke the end off a sensor in the drivers side head. It's at the very front by alt. What is it, water temp sensor?
Thanks
Nah, I figure it said cranks but doesn't run so I get what I get. Which is perfectly fine. I had one dent in the back where it looks like someone hit something while the antenna mount was attached that wasn't mentioned or pictured but I figure a 2x4 and mallet will straighten that just fine...
