I have several diesel turbo 400's laying around and I want to build one to put behind a gas 454ci motor... What needs to be changed in order for this to work? Torque converter, anything internal?
I have 395's 46in.... As far as I'm concerned my truck still stops great. It is a little rougher on the road but I still need to play with pressures. I don't like the fact that I can't turn right very sharp (on stock rims). And going up hills kill me now, but I haven't adjusted the fuel yet...
I run my deuces for hours on end at redline without issue. From what I've seen they are tractor motors and designed to run all day under load... Now that being said operator error can total mess stuff up, you downshift and wrap the thing up to 3,200rpm I can see a problem there..
I let my...
Swapped in another starter relay with no effect so looks like I'll drop the starter again... I know a few places that can test 12v stuff, will they be able to test this starter?
True, I don't know if the starter is good I pulled it off a parts truck... I think what I'm looking at is the starter relay (left of ash tray) but again not sure if it's any good. How do I test either?
I picked up a couple 1009's a while back and am just now starting to work on them... The one I am currently trying to get going is in the best shape... From the looks of it the only thing that was missing at time of pickup was the starter and glow plug card... I replaced the starter, don't...
Yep, I have the Dana 60 also... Had to go to the local hardware store to get longer bolts that thread into the housing... Otherwise everything bolted up... You also need to get a dropped pitman arm because the bar they give you is for 10 bolts and dana 44s.
I got rough countrys all spring 6in...
I put a rough country 6in on my 1008... listed as their 3/4ton setup... Front bolted right in, I had to track down the plates that sit above the rear springs in the rear that the ubolts go through... They are different on the 1ton trucks.
If I get my tow bar setup I will trailer one and pull the other most likely... Tow vehicles are a 05 3500 dually dodge and an 05 2500 GMC so I'm not to worried about the cucv weights.:-D
Goal is to turn one into a mud truck, and leave the other as a farm truck.. As long as they aren't complete...
Won both of these trucks Yesterday. One has 38,000mi and the other has 70,000mi. I have no idea if they run, description only said no keys. I'm hoping they will be like the M1009 I got in Indy and fire right up with batts but who knows. Looks to be missing alts.. To bad they are 600mi away from...
Yes, I'd much rather drive them home but if by chance there is a major fault that can't be rigged on site I need options:-D... Getting a semi to tow them back is my last personal choice.
First off, Does anyone have tow bars for sale around northern Indiana?
Second, Not that I want too but can a Deuce tow/tag/pull an 813 without having to fear death? I am looking at several unknown runners, and while they look to be in good condition I need a backup plan if they won't...
