carfax to find out the true miles

It doesnt, as far as I know. The government never titles these trucks, in the comventional manner, and they never get taken to a dealer for warranty work, so no paper trail exists for them, as it does with civy vehicles.

    hub replacement on M101A1?

Tell ya what I did. Had an M105, with a bad spindle. Sawed the ends off, and had a ton dually rear end, dana 70. Cut the axle ends off, they slid perfectly into the 105 axle tube, and welded them up. Now the 105 takes ton dually or single wheels. Not sure if the 101 axle tube diameter is the same.

    Drexel Recovery tomorrow

Pics As promised, pics. Couldnt get any during recovery, it was raining non-stop. Once I got them home, I got these on Saturday. Chuck, the dead batteried charged up, so looks like one fan belt, and 1 ignition lock cylinder is all they need so far.I still need to drive the one that we hauled on...

    Top speeds in a M1008?

Well, 55 is the pest speed to max at, however short bursts to 65 arent too bad. Over 55 the mpg goes way down. Most folks would swap to 3.73 or 4.10 gears . The 3.08gears in the M1009 are too tall, it needs 3.73.

Wired tailights only, left and arrived at Drexel about 09:15 hours. Got to the first M1009, the broken ignition switch, had to pop the wheel off to remove...

Finally got scheduled for pickup of 3 M1009's for another SS member. Unknown running condition, as was mine. Since I picked mine up, I saw first hand all that I "should have had on hand". This time, got a truck and car trailer, tow bar, 3 drivers, extra batteries, spare, fuel, oil, home made...

Aux engine flat 4 cylinder gas/magneto ignition starter ??

Have been pondering the same setup. Sounds like the starter drive needs oiled good, or starter is needing shimmed away from the crank. Try loosening the starter mounting slightly and try it. If it spins out correct, it needs repositioned.

I agree, the Blazer is a very economical ride, although a bit sluggish. I am extremely happy with mine. Hoping my road trip nets in the 20's.

M1028 tranny shifting vaccuum pump question.

The M1028 uses a pump that mounts where the distributor went on gassers. On the civis, I believe they used a belt driven unit, but (and this is the million dollar question) I think civi units with a/c used possible the military unit. Not 100% positive tho.

What is your idea of M109 prices

Armyman, out of the 40 or so M1009's mine ($990) came from, the great majority were driven out. The rest needed small things to run, with the worst so far was the fellow with broken starter bolts. They ranged from $990 to a little over $1800 I believe. On my budget, I had to stay low (not to...
