patracy,
just installed a 6.5 on my 6.2 today. man, that passenger manifold is close to the frame rails, glow plugs and injectors. I would also like to see a pic of how you ran your down pipe and cross over. the crossover I got doesnt fit and supposedly it came off a 6.2.
scored the 6.5 turbo for a new 6.2 motor I just bought. I have read several forums and am still confused about an air filter set up and placement of the CDR valve. does anybody have suggestions, sources and pics of theirs. Im starting the engine swap tomorrow and want to get it done right. any...
thats what I am considering. weighing the costs now. any hot tips on where to find a good used motor? Im in San Diego and there arent many cucv's here.
ok. so its the head gasket AGAIN! here are a couple of newbie questions;
what head gaskets do you guys recommend?
do I need to replace the head bolts each time?
is there anything out of the ordinary that I should look at?
a little history...the head gaskets have been done twice over the past year. never these symptoms though. I am losing coolant. i was told that it might be the timing chain cover seal. is this true?
So this morning while my truck was idling I noticed a bit of milky oil on the top rim of my oil fill. I took the cap off and was surprised to find air blowing out of it. Is this normal? If not, what could it be?
Mine just broke today! I have the injector out and I can feel it with my pinky, but it feels snug in there. Im going to go buy a magnet on a stick. Hope that works because I have no other clue what to do.
So I hop into my cucv this am and get her started. Drive to the beach with the kid for a little surf. finished the beach visit up, hop in the cucv, turn the ignition and not a **** light comes on. I try it a few times and still nothing. i turn my headlights on to verify power and nothing. I pop...
update...performed the doghead mod and she starts right up. Man, that popping click is hard to get used too. I want to thank everyone again for their help.
ok. This was the only relay I found down here. I thought about the ford relay, but they didnt have those either. I couldnt find dogheads relay (sorry about the fish part, lack of sleep). so i attempted the temp fix with above said RELAY and it went up in smoke.
contemplating a long ride home...
ok...so i took the starter to an electrical shop and they have the starter working. you should see the the contraption they have to bench test starters. no luck on a stock relay. before I attempt to do the dogfish conversion, is there a way to bypass the relay as 24v?
Uggghh. I am about to pull the starter and see if they can test it down here. im doubting it, seeing that its 24v. I truly hope its not the relay. any way to test to make sure?
