Saturday Dec 30 HASPIN day-trip in Laurel, IN

Drink at work, then they'll let you off for the day (or forever) so you can come drink with us. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk

    Another M998 MMA MWO question

I don't understand how any HMMWV in military custody escaped 3-point belts. From the bulletins I've read, the Army made a real big **** deal out of it. It's all way too easy to install for the front seats, so there's really no excuse for them not to, especially through a rebuild. Now the...

    FYI: Wheels and tires

Good info, but my post earlier was about the bad work a shop did on my Dodge Dart, not my HMMWV. Much lighter duty application! Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Thanks to Shrapnel's helping hand, we blasted through replacing my injection pump in record time. Didn't think it was possible, but we got the old injection pump off and the rebuilt one installed in all of about 3.5 hours. It's not 100%, I still need to bolt the oil fill tube back on, torque...

    FYI: Wheels and tires

Sorry, I wasn't talking about my MV with that tire shop. That was wheel bolts on my Dodge Dart. Just an example of sloppy shop work. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk

    FYI: Wheels and tires

I loved that the last tire shop that touched the wheels of my cars proudly used torque wrenches...set to the wrong spec. Literally overheard "What's the torque on this one?" "Just set it to 100 and move on!" Thanks guys, 22-28 lbs over spec. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk

    FYI: Wheels and tires

Good to know. There's a good chance I would have screwed this one up without this warning from you.

Hilariously cold for bikes. I used to do that before I got too chubby to wear layers under my riding gear. The worst is doing 70 for an hour and a half trying to get across state lines. That's cold. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk

I'd love to be there! I may just get enough work in to actually get the HMMWV out from its slumber. Time will tell!

Banks sidewinder turbo considerations doesn’t fit very well

We require the van-style top-mounted turbo, the body should be lifted I think 1", the doghouse engine cover must be replaced with the turbo design for clearance, and you need to trim the tunnel floor to match the shape of the new doghouse. The side-mounted turbos are known trouble unless you...

What should I pay 1989 AM General M998 HMMWV 2 Door Soft Top w/Truck Body

Sounds to me like the batteries won't hold a charge...or simply need to be recharged to keep going for a couple more years. They don't spend a lot of time on these trucks...presumeably they just look for leaks, check to make sure there's oil, coolant, power steering fluid, and transmission...

Crimp tool and mods for packard connectors

Wish I saw this thread 6 months ago. Installed a lot of these connectors using a functional, but awkward hydraulic crimping tool. Since I still have another 20 or so connector in my foreseeable future, I'll probably snag one of these up...

And the horn has to be plugged in...mine stopped working one day, crawled under the truck and saw that the connector was loose and fell out. Lol Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk

They do recognize the 6 digit serial, but will probably ask questions. Be ready to explain the serial number and show them to the data plate and the vehicle invoice or SF-97 to ease their concerns. Also, most jurisdictions I've had an inspection in just want you to call when you need an...

    Let the fun begin

Look through the parts for sale section in the classifieds, or post a new thread to the parts wanted section. I think some guy had a 200A dual voltage unit for sale a few weeks ago. You may find that someone has a 60A unit for much, much cheaper. Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk

    Let the fun begin

T/C doesn't mean torque converter in this case, it's transfer case. That should illuminate when your transfer case is in HL or L position. The two cables are radio/electronic power cables. The 4 prong is very common for the VRC-12 series radios and others. Not sure what the multi pin unit is...

    GL Lost Surplus Contract

Hey, if this means that auctions will actually have effin' pictures of all the import parts of the equipment listed, then I'm all for it. I'm also tired of lots with no NSN, no item number, and only a very vague description of what might be inside the triwall. Those lots are a great deal if...

    Fire extinguisher recall of Kidde

Thanks guys for helping keep my fiance's family safe. I pointed this out to the them and sure enough, they have at least two of these that are part of the recall.

    Remote car starter

This really has me thinking about that diagnostic port on the S3 boxes... I think I need to plug in my DPA and do some exploring.
