I've seen a 5-ton tractor with a sleeper, but not a S-250 shelter as one.
I think best bet would be to put a S-250 shelter in the front of the deuce bed, strapped down with steel cables as normal. That way, you can have a deuce with a camper and some storage area, or if you need more storage...
What is the real difference between the 2-door and 4-door HMMWVs? I'm not trying to make a stupid question, I'm just saying that the HMMWV was supposed to be modular. I can change a M998 basic HMMWV with the slant top into a 2-door ambulance or 2-door shelter carrier with some spare parts and...
The A3s were built out of A2 trucks back in the early 1990s. The odometer might have only 1400 miles on it, but trust me those frames have a LOT more miles, maybe a couple hundred thousand on them, as they have been through rebuilds many times before. Ask jatonka, he'll tell you how many times...
For a battery for the PRM-34, here's a pic of one done up, I copied this gent's idea. All it needs are the connectors and battery holder, which Radio Shack carries, and 4 AA batteries to provide the juice.
Half a mile transmit is not good for the PRC-25 or -77. There's something else in there, could be any of 3 or 4 different problems.
First, make sure you have a NEW CURRENT made battery pack, I like the PRC68.com made unit, uses D cell off the shelf batteries, the old magnesium batteries that...
I sold off ALL my trucks past couple years. Hasn't stopped me from being here, I am looking forward to having newer trucks in the future. It's a sad day when the first truck leaves, but think of the love you have for other trucks you own now, and will own in the future!
The original tires are 9.00x16, same rims as the M37. I believe the only trucks with 16.5s have been the M880 series, the CUCV M1008 pickups (not the Blazers), and the HMMWV. The HMMWV trailers I believe (M1101 and M1102), and the later M101A2 and A3 trailers used 16.5 inch tires. The M101...
It's a cryin' shame that sometimes these proud steel soldiers are worth more as scrap metal than they are as working trucks. One day we'll complain that we can't find good trucks for a good price anymore, as all these were turned into Chinese rebar.
We can only save so many, and the wolves get...
I believe it might have been military, but that does not mean it was ever painted OD green. For training purposes, I could see the next to have snowcats painted orange so that they can be easily seen if lost and rescue was needed. For tactical use, the M973 SUSV was camo to fill that role.
Anyone have any recommendations for a good radial replacement size tire for the M101A1 series trailers, stock split-rim wheels, to give roughly the same ride height as the stock 9.00x16 NDTs? Have a M101 coming in with ancient NDT tires and I don't want to buy replacement NDTs, I'd rather get...
