Great work! I'm not so sure about the new bumper and brushguard assy, but it's your truck. How bad in condition was the original brushguard? I see you put it was "too far gone" but in the first pic it looks pretty solid.
I've loved this truck since I saw it's first incarnation in 1989 in...
Not sure yet, but it looks like the item you bought and paid for, Uncle Sam changes it's mind and now wants to keep. I've heard horror stories about this in the past, sometimes folks don't get their money back.
I'm sure GL will give you more information in the near future about your...
I doubt the HMMWV replacement will need armor full-time. Armor is expensive, taxing on the vehicle's frame and suspension, and makes using the vehicle for less tactical uses (like just driving around base) a PITA since armor sometimes obstructs the view for the driver. I'm sure the capacity to...
Mine were all rotted off, and I couldn't find a local source for them, so I used small 4x40 bolts with washers to hold the new welting on. I know, it's a bubba fix, but when you can't find the parts, you improvise.
Just a quick question - if someone had a M127 trailer that was in excellent condition, nice decking, tires were 80% or better, everything worked and the paint was pretty fresh, what's the retail value on something like that? Just curious...
I'm surprised noone is making them anymore. Most places that do large-scale sewing or fabrication have "patterns" that are kept on file as "available" if someone orders one. This is especially true with stuff that is hand-made, i.e. not mass-produced on a machine. If someone places the order...
...and no winch, no rollbar, some NDTs, and some bubba needs to learn where the license plate goes. :)
Nice start to your addiction! Keep us posted as it turns back into a military jeep!
OW MY NECK!
Nice save, I'll be watching this one because I eventually want to get a M1009 and the mods you have planned are pretty much what I want to do.
Not really a CUCV, although some do consider it in the same family as the M1008 series. I like the Dodges better though, but they will pass anything except a gas station. At 8 mpg, they aren't cheap to operate, but they are pretty rugged..
