    M37 work starts

Let us know where you sent the engine for rebuild - I have a buddy in town here who owns a M37 whose engine will not start to save itself, and a very competent mechanic is about to give up on it.

Junker to Jewel pics - diamond in the rough...

Good save of the V-100, Rory! I'm surprised it wasn't in worse shape from being out on the range. How were you able to get it from the military range? Do they sell them as scrap?

What is it with all you guys finding rarities all of the sudden? Wreckers, V17s, dumps, oh my! Someone get it please! Or so help me, I'll win the lottery and do it myself!

Iraq / Afghanistan conflicts Gun truck build

Looks like there is some sort of mine roller attachment or IED sensing device attached to the truck in the front. Perhaps the hydraulic lines are to control it?

Iraq / Afghanistan conflicts Gun truck build

I like the M939 truck with the Mercedes medallion on it. Very ghetto. I'd do the nerd thing and hang a big VW medallion instead.

Iraq / Afghanistan conflicts Gun truck build

One thing I have gleaned from studying armored trucks in Vietnam, and then Iraq, was that the Vietnam trucks seemed well-designed. They came as kits, and the guys who ran those trucks built them well. The recent Iraq trucks looked like they were assembled with whatever scrap metal they could...

Complete the trailer with this setup someone else did here, you can mount the genset in the back end of it, and still have plenty of room for firewood!

Nice acquisition, yours is in better shape than mine. Mine is slowly making the transition from M416 to M762, I have some rust to contend with first. Keep us posted....

    M127 stake semi trailer restoration

Anyone here ever had to replace a wood deck on a trailer like this? How much trouble was it, and how much did it cost for the wood and/or labor? These older flatbeds are pretty neat, I have seen a handful of them turn up on GL recently and I'm surprised they don't go for more money.

    Going price on feild stoves?

Last time I paid attention to their prices they were going for about $100 each, but that was 10 or 12 years ago.

    Saw these beauties today

That first weird black one looks like it was made for a movie. A really cheap, crappy B movie, but a movie nonetheless.

The word is PLUMBING, people. Just a spelling lesson so we don't all look like a bunch of public school grads, here.
