    military earthmoving equipment owners?

I'm surprised noone has any LeTourneau stuff, they used to be a heavy hitter in the earthmoving field, even with the military. They built 10,000 towed scrapers and 2,000 self-propelled scrapers for the Army during WWII, and that's just scrapers. LeTourneau was in some way, a bigger company...

    military earthmoving equipment owners?

Anyone here lucky enough to own any military construction equipment from WWII to the present? Lots of bulldozers, scrapers, loaders, cranes, etc. served proudly, and though we can't drive them on the road much they are still cool. And no, pics of you having an E-tool don't count as ownership...

    Rome plow pics

Guess what I found online? Guy had a 1966 Cat D7E up in New York, still serving. The KG7ED blade is gone, along with the armored grille, the engine covers, and the armor on the intake and hydraulic cylinders, but it has the military ROPS cage, the exhaust tip armor and the mounts on the grille...

    Rome plow pics

The "Rome Plow" was made famous during land clearing operations in the Vietnam conflict, where specially equipped bulldozers were needed to level huge swaths of jungle and scrub to deny the enemy cover and concealment. Land clearing units were present in Vietnam from May 1967 until 1971. The...

2011 Graves Mountain Virginia Rally - Labor Day Weekend

Got the loop done except for a couple large logs we need to hit with a chain saw, and we can get that done right before the rally. All the debris is cleared and ready for a line of offroaders. Good news is, according to Cabell, we have approximately 8-10 miles of NEW trails that were not in...

    M2 Half track Restro starts

Restro? Is that like Destro, that weirdo guy in GI Joe? So, you're going to restore it, but it will be black painted on the bottom 2/3 and top 1/3 is chrome. :) You got a head start with the armor, looks like time didn't hack that off for ya. Keep up the good work!

    Post your halftrack pictures

These aren't mine, but I saved them on my computer from years back. Maybe someday I'll be one of the lucky few.... My friend Ralph got a halftrack for free! Lucky dog, even if it's just the metal and nothing else.

2011 Graves Mountain Virginia Rally - Labor Day Weekend

Ah, yeah. Thanks for the jackass comments guys. It was the family farm, I was digging up rocks, and I messed up my left wrist. My right wrist is what I use for the playboys, so the jokes on you.

2011 Graves Mountain Virginia Rally - Labor Day Weekend

I'll be there Sunday to help instead of Saturday - I messed up my wrist working on the farm digging rocks yesterday, can't move my wrist around too much. By going Sunday I hope it will have an extra day to get better before I have to use it doing hard labor again.

Coming up in a couple weeks. The Gun Truck Gathering was held there last year. This year I might just be showing up to look around, was wondering if anyone local to that area is bringing their military truck....

    STP as fuel?

Yes, you can burn it, but I'd burn it 50/50 with diesel for good measure.

WOOHOO! The tech manuals are back up!

Like I've said before, if it's related to this site, and it involves any repair or administration that must be done by mangus, this site will crash and burn without him ever doing anything about it. But he'll still be glad to cash the checks for all the advertisements that are posted above.
