You might try over at G503 site, those guys have WWII field drab in their bloodstream, might be able to help you out with the older stuff more than we can....

Need help to identify a trailer

According to the internet, the G-516 series of trailer is G516 Trailer 1-ton, Miller Model CP-1. Some pics would help....

    Got my M1102 excellent condition

Last time I looked at them, they were bringing $3K or so. IMHO, they are nice trailers, and if you have a HMMWV, you can afford one of these. But if you're looking at something to tow behind your M1008/1028, you'd be wiser to pay for a M101 series trailer and save some $$$.

    Jim Thorpe Winter 2011 Swapmeet

This is a parts show, and for me, I live 4 hours away by normal car. It's not an all-day thing for me, I just drive up, get parts I need, see friends for a couple hours, then turn and burn. IMHO, unless you are close, it's not worth firing up the deuce for a long drive there, stop for 2 hours...

    cucv tow bar $35

Rich, hate to be the person to say that is so wrong on so many levels, but we live in a world where the many get punished for the actions of a few. Looking at that attempt at making your own towbar will almost certainly end in mechanical failure of the weld, and leave you stranded at the very...

    cucv tow bar $35

I'd rather have a medium tow bar rated for 38,000 lbs towing the CUCV than that. I believe in overkill.

What's the history of the Water Buffalo

Actually, the first purpose-built water trailer in military inventory (my apologies to any WW1 trailers I may have forgotten, I'm not big into WW1 history), was the G-527 series of water buffalos, built on the Ben Hur trailer chassis of WW2. It is listed in David Doyle's book on military...

What is this? Not a shop van?

Ditto on the radio info. It was for a repeater station, to take incoming signals and boost them and transmit them out again. It's not a shop van, looks like the previous owners took the bed off and mounted a S-280 looking shelter directly to the frame.

    Power unit info needed

400 Hz powers a lot of radios that the Air Force used, which also happened to include the PRC-47. Granted, at 5 KW, this is a bit overkill to power one radio....

    Noteworthy Gl auction

I doubt they would be auctioned off in this manner if they were used. Radioactive items are strictly controlled, like you wouldn't believe. And mutilating the item and melting them down does not remove residual radioactivity, it just makes the radioactivity homogeneous through the entire...

    medical oxygen tanks for welding?

A surplus store near me has a few medical oxygen cylinders, the little small ones with the pin-type valve instead of the standard "water faucet" looking valve. These were oxygen tanks that came from the military in the 1960s and 1970s for use on ambulances. I think they are empty, but they...

    Tank Engine ID

Repair parts are out there, but you have to check primarily with guys who deal in armored vehicle parts. David Yamulla comes to mind. Most of the parts are not off-the-shelf items, like Cummins engine parts are.

    GL selling livestock!
