TOWBAR ID and parts needed to tow Deuce with it

That used to be one of the towbars I had. It is a short heavy, or at least I call it that. Was meant for the 10-ton cargo trucks many years ago, it is listed as a BII in the M123 series, shown in the manual. Jim Henry said he had ends for them, but not sure if he still does, he said he scraps...

Tatra road trip to naval base

Took the yellow submarine to see the big ships, huh? ;) The Beatles would be proud! Great pics! I like the yellow paint job, no really!

How many R-2 crashtrucks still alive?

You lucked out Jay - last time I was at Winslow's I almost took the time to take a torch and cut out the rear frame member out of that R-2, but I had minimal time, so I passed up the chore. If I took the time, it would have ruined your new ride. Good thing I didn't.

CUCV M1009 License plate mounting, Rear

Glad I could help, Den. Your CUCV is one of the cleanest I have ever seen!

How many R-2 crashtrucks still alive?

There's one at John Winslow's place in NC. It's pretty well modified in the ass end.

    GL ads not updating

Most of the vehicles shown in the GL ads on the left side of the page were from the auctions which closed on 7/1 and 7/8. Problems with the updating?

    Bridge plate numbers??

He also told me, when I was looking for a quality transmission jack, that I should type "tranny jack" into the Google search engine. My eyes are still burning from the pictures that came up. I blame PHD. Seriously, though, 4 of the 8 trucks I bought had "69" on the bridge plate. Seems that...

Polaris Has Gone Tactical - Eating Gators

While I am not a fan of the Polaris vehicle, zoo does have a point. This was designed as a utility vehicle. Utility vehicles are designed for all-purpose utility roles, not an assault vehicle, amphibious vehicle, etc. The Willys jeeps and M151s fit this role to a T. They are supposed to be...

    More info wanted, M149

Good job on keeping the project going. This reminds me of the one M149 trailer I did buy, back in 1998. I won the item for minimum bid, $5.00, out of Ft. Meade. It was rusty as ****, and had a 2" circular drilled hole in the tank. I sold it not long after that, I should've had more...

MKT newbie, volunteer for KP, boston area

I second that, and I don't even own one. But I have seen all the effort that it takes to set up the trailer, cook for 40-70 people at Haspin rally, clean all the dishes and equipment (mostly after every meal, but certainly once a day), and pack everything up when the rally is all over. Cabell...

2010 Virginia Graves Mtn. rally - Labor Day weekend

Understood, Cabell. I still plan to put in at least one day this weekend, even if you can't make it up. I just added the flyer for the event, located in post #1 of this thread.

2010 Virginia Graves Mtn. rally - Labor Day weekend

A couple more days to go - Cabell said he'd be in the area on Friday - Sunday, July 16-18. Can anyone lend a hand with some trail maintenance over those days? I think I can make it Friday.

Almost time to bring them home

Everyone missed the detail. The data plates says "XM211". It's an early production model, nice. The engine is easy to find parts for, and easy to find a replacement for if it's no good. The hard part is finding the original bed. Rebuilt engine...

    Tank Cozy

It's an M24 Chaffee light tank. Here's a pic of it without the Home Shopping Network abomination.

Oddest load moved in a deuce???/ SS airforce??

Can't say I've ever hauled any weird stuff in the deuce, well, besides myself. I have gone to Aberdeen with the back of the truck FULL, as in, no room at all. Saw this pic on SS a while back, it's not weird, as it is an engine, but the size of it, OH MY.

Saw these on the way to Devil's Tower

Wow, all the way back to M37s and M38s. Lots of history there, anyone in the area confirm what's up with that property?

    putting the M200A3 back together

Got it basically put back together, new glad hand hoses, new intervehicular cable, some paint (have a couple spots left to do). But it's coming along slowly.
