PHD - if you can focus your efforts on scouting the following green trails:
On the East Map, those labeled as "101 Trail", "1" and "1b". The rest of the green trails we have already traveled.
On the West Map, those labeled as "J-1", the entire "11" loop, "14" and "21". The rest of the green...
Less than a month to go. I've said it before, we almost need someone with a small jeep or something to go there a weekend early and scout some of the trails that we haven't been on yet, in order to see how bad they are, and see if it might be worthwhile to try. I am attaching the maps again...
Yeah, tim, I know a full on resto of one with all the pieces must be expensive. But I know there has to be someone with one somewhere. Think of the guys who completely restored the R2A crash trucks with all the accessories, machine shop trucks, heck there was a guy at Gilbert a few years back...
Anyone here restore a pioneer tool trailer, AND get all the stuff for the inside to complete the resto? I have seen manuals telling of the contents, drawings of where everything should go. Just wondering if anyone went all the way, and can provide detailed pics of everything in its place.
Scrap value of a deuce is around $1300 or so. If you get for less than that you are doing good, regardless of running condition. However, if you bid on a truck that says "doesn't run", I'd plan on getting a towing company to haul it home for you.
To be honest, I wouldn't bid on anything I...
Either way, Lance, you gotta make it back. I'm gonna try and move H&E to get there, even if I'm just riding with someone. Last rally of the year for me.
I hope this permanently turns into a twice-a-year event, like this year has been. In fact, I wish I could make RC more times than twice...
6 foot, 245 lbs, I have no problem and I have the cushier HEMTT seats.
Who I wonder fits in a deuce is Stretch - he's 6 foot 10 inches and weighs 85 pounds soaking wet. Looking out the window all he must see is wiper motor. It's a wonder he hasn't cut a hole in the soft top and drove it...
In doing some looking around for info, seems that if he wants to stay with a gas engine, the stock axle will be fine, regardless of how big the motor is. However, if he wants to swap to a diesel, he'll have to change out the Dana 44 front for a Dana 60. I'd match it with a Dana 70 rear, but...
What he said. Unless you put a lot of radios back in your truck, you won't need this, however they are sought after by those who do. Pull it, ebay it, and make buku bux.
Got into a heated discussion with a friend of mine on the phone last night about repowering a M880 Dodge he owns. He's of the mindset that he wants to replace the 318ci engine with another Dodge power plant, a big block in the 383 or 440 family. He even mentioned a hemi (lotsobux). I'm of the...
No, but there are a couple lakes back in the woods you can jump in if you have to wash off, I guess. Or just walk out in the driving rain with some soap and a washcloth, you get the idea.
Cool, a wrecker on site this year. Getting close, can't wait - all dependent on income for the time being, though. If I am still out of work at the time, I doubt I can swing this rally. We'll see as we get closer.
I'll offer him a bank check made out for $200 more than he's asking, to pay the movers, and send someone right over to get it.
The winch is a joke, I've never seen such a monstrosity. I take that back, that deuce from CA with Blazer axles still wins.
Wow, looks like time hath taken its toll on the rocker panels and the bottoms of the doors. That's a lot of cancer, even for M880 series trucks....
Hope it gets a proper resto and repaint in time. In the meantime, it's a good start!
Wasn't me. I heard about that. Glad I was still in the sack so I didn't get blinded by the sight.
Wasn't Downhill Bill either - though DHB was set up at the show.
