They've been using rolling fuel bladders since at least the early 1960s, thought not much recently. It used to be rather common seeing them, especially further up north where they roll really nicely on the packed snow. The further south you go, the less they were used, mostly because of the...
Keep an eye on the GSA auction site - M880s come up there often.
They are getting old enough now that when they become available in any condition, snatch it up, even if they need some rust repair. The 318ci Dodge plant is hard to kill, and easy to find parts for.
Not the one on the mall in D.C., but rather the newer facility near Dulles Airport. This is a HUGE indoor facility, cost is free to go inside, but $15 to park (goes toward facility operations). LOTS of really neat displays, from the dawn of flight to today, covering commercial aircraft...

Total...

If it suits your purpose, it's not blasphemous. It looks like a professional modification job, to me. The independent suspension makes it perfect for offroading without the worry of hanging up on a rock.
I learned this from gunplumber on FalFiles.com...
Use a normal hobby paintbrush, paint the whole lettered area, don't worry about going outside the lines. When the paint is dried a bit, but still tacky, take a piece of cloth like a worn hankerchief, something that doesn't have a lot of "fuzz"...
...and I killed a streetlamp in Blackstone when I didn't make the turn wide enough. Oops. Good thing the cop was nice, said that as long as I paid to replace the streetlamp no foul. My insurance is working on the details, but I figure one streetlamp post won't be too big a deal for them to...
