Would this be a problem if one were to look at a side dump and make appropriate braces in the chassis.
My plans would not be to "max it out" but probably more for wood and dirt rather than rocks or cement particles.
But I do understand your point too

What's the thought on a Frankenstein M977 with a reinforced bed and side dump capabilities. Impossible no, but I thought with the HEMTT's wide stance and low center of gravity it would make a decent side dump.
I too was charged with fees from a towing company that moved my M977 to their lot out of Ft. Worth, I was more than just surprised when I received a call from my trucker saying they were holding my truck hostage until appropriate fee's were paid. I ended up paying the fee's and as soon as my...
I forgot here's some short clips of when my M977 first arrived!

Joining the thread for when I acually finish school and start working on it, these pictures are a couple months old working on a CPK made out of AR500.
Future plans include finishing armor painting and working on fabbing new headlights closer to the new oshkosh MMRS
Well, I understand why builds take so long, a simple task can easily eat your whole day up. I have almost all the steel work done I just need to finish the fins and mount them next, school is a real bother when trying to work on the toys haha. I did do some redesigning to try keep the approach...
For headlights Im thinking of getting 3 rigid industry lights, a hi in spot light pattern, low in fog pattern, and an amber turn signal. Ill have to fab up a protective box for them and will post pictures later. Any other options feel free to run buy me.
So this weekend I was able to cut the steel and get most of it mounted, next weekend ill be doing some cardboard R&D and working on the fins. I got to say to all that will be doing this just realize the sheet it self weighs in at 500 all said and done it'll be closer to 550 to 600. Ill get fin...
By hand with a plasma cutter I wish I had a plasma cam used one in high school and it was awesome, I'm using 3/8 ar500 4x8 (weighing in at roughly 500lbs.) which is coincidentally the exact size of the hemtt shield.
Alright guys I know its been a while since my last post due to school and work but this weekend it was sub 20's and the old girl fired right up within 2sec. which is impressive considering its still number 2 fuel. Anyways after a warm up we went for a 15mi drive to my shop where this weekend ill...
Rotella t1 40 is also very acceptable, I have found delo 40 very hard to find in my neck of the woods. Like early after switching to the 40w ran 100x better
Was done immediately with Rotella t40 got no complaints and honestly after the change the engine ran a 1000x better, purred like a cat and ran like a top.
I hope the oil change to 40w at 21k miles was enough to save the engine to last over 75k.
I changed the tranny fluid too, but it still...
Hey didn't see this post soon enough for my input. First off congratulations on the win
When I got mine my radiator was bone dry, after adding 20gal. of coolant my level has stayed the same for since I got her in August, so I know there's no leak.
Which means in the video when it was...
