Just put a tape on the 925, it is 120 inches to the top of the roller on the spare tire crane. I don't have bows and tarp. The tires are fully inflated 1400's. Hope that helps.
Awesome, good luck with it. I certainly enjoy my 925. If I was doing it over again I would go with the 923. Since it really takes two guys to operate the winch it isn't much use to me and it sure sticks way out there. I am not going to take it off though, I am just going to keep it like the...
Okay 880 guys, weigh in; I am thinking it would be fun to have a MV that is a little easier on the pocket to drive than my 5ton and I am thinking about an 880. I hear a lot on this site about the CUCV's, not so much the 880's why? I am leaning toward the 880 to get away from the diesel. I...
Personally, I wouldn't worry about shifting into neutral, if you have time to do that, it isn't an emergency stop. I don't know about your truck but there isn't a noticeable change in tactile feel between forward, neutral and reverse so in a panic shift, I would worry about sending the truck...
Can't help you Mike, I am in the KC area but welcome to the site. I am sure someone will help out, might take a day or so for the right person to see your post.
DSD277, thank you so much for posting all this. I just finished reading every page and I am impressed! Would it be out of line (or hijacking the thread) to ask, what IS a war pig? From the pictures posted, it appears to be a special operations or airborne piece of equipment. I did see in one pic...
Beautiful truck, thanks for keeping it from the scrap yard. I love those old body styles and that trucks is a beast, who cares about practical, make a daily driver out of it and have fun:grin:
Awesome truck, what was the genesis of the project? Were there, are there gun trucks like these in service? The only pics I have seen of 5ton gun trucks had more protection for the gunners and they were all sand colored so I am just curious.
You do really nice work, not surprised it is turning heads and winning awards - nice to see your talent and hard work is recognized. Thanks for sharing.
I didn't know an injector failure would melt a piston. I drove a Freightliner for years and had three or four injector failures (on an N14 motor.) I just limped to a Cummins facility and had it replaced each time. Glad I didn't know it could do that. I assume you were blowing lots of black smoke...
I don't have any experience with safes from the military but I was in banking for 22 years and EVERY safe we used required turning the dial in the opposite direction from the last number until it stops - but they weren't digital. Hope you get it opened.
Hum, I guess it wasn't really any of my business anyway, thanks though, sounds like you have a clear path to some awesome fun there. If you have the funds, I would go for it. We LOVE pictures here (just sayin:-D)
"I'm intending on using this as a everyday vehicle." I certainly can't help you, I had to go look it up to see what it is but are you REALLY intending on using this as a daily driver? Don't you think the local law guys would be a little uncomfortable with an armored vehicle cruising around town...
