They are W900 big. I drove a Freightliner FLD120 for years and this truck is bigger. When I was bringing the truck back from Riley, I looked down into the cab of lots of the class 8 trucks. Not all of them to be sure, but most. My 925 is about 28,000 empty (if I remember correctly.) I bought the...
I agree, my truck LOVES 50mph. I am not in a hurry anyway. And Thanks juanprado, Glen is an awesome guy and I am going out there soon but I don't really care about the adapter, I will just adjust. Not a big deal really, just thought some other folk might want to check theirs.
I did check it against a couple of other vehicles. I don't think I will chase that gizmo, I will just adjust my speed accordingly. That does help explain why my front tire came to pieces on recovery. That would have meant I was going about 65-67 a lot of the way and only running about 45 lbs air...
For some time I have suspected the speedometer on my 1985 925A1 was off. I checked it today against a handy dandy Android App and the speedometer is 7.5 miles slow. When the speedometer shows 40, I am actually going 47.5. Anyone else having this issue? My truck looks like it was cobbled...
A fast check of the fuel system would be to put a 5gal marine tank full of fuel on the roof top, run a line with an inline filter to the IP, prime it and see if she starts. That would tell you a lot. Did that on my 97 diesel pickup and it gave me a good idea where to start looking.
I run a two battery configuration but when I can afford it, I am going to four. When the temp drops below 40 two batteries don't really do the job. I put a block heater in (they are around for between $60-70$) and that is the best money I have spent on the truck. I have run Rotella in a number...
Hey Guns, just got a weather forecast for our area that is calling for snow Monday into Tuesday with a potential of six to ten inches of snow. I don’t want to be alarmist or Chicken Little but if Jeff City gets 10 inches of snow on Tuesday it could impact your ability to get that truck in to...
Same thing happened to me. I thought I had everything tight but apparently I didn't. I am still running this battery but I know it is only a matter of time..... I am currently running a two battery set up but going to four when I can afford two more. You may have a short, I don't know, but I do...
I live a couple hours from there, if it happens to fall on a Thursday, I can probably make it down to help. I am not a mechanic, don't need any compensation either. I do have a slave cable I can take with me. Has to be a Thursday for me to help though.
Too far to drive the 925 so they would need...
We finally got snow, anywhere from 8 to 12 inches which is a really big snow for us. First real snow in a couple of years. Took the 925 out looking for a challenge but didn't really find one. I am interested in how deep it will go (on the road) before it is a problem. I understand ice is a...
Yep, that's why they were always called a two foot exercise. At least a driver has the means of keeping the truck running. As to the newer trucks with autos, I didn't know that, I have been out of the business for quite a while. I would assume the commercial trucks have addressed that issue...
And hello from a little east of Kansas City, hope you find just what you are looking for! There was a cherry duece in Boliver about a month ago that was for sale, I may still have the contact info, pm me if you need his number.Welcome
Welcome to the site JCKC! I am down the road about 20 miles east of you. Hope your time here is profitable and enjoyable. Pm me if I can help you with anything.
I have a 925A1. When we went to recover it my brother in law, a 23 yr. army vet, who spent most of his time working on or with vehicles, was excited to see the tag saying the truck was converted to ABS. On the trip back he was telling me how dangerous the trucks were before that. It was exactly...
wreckerman893 "They don't have to prove dicky doo on the side of the road" Now that's funny! And true. the DOT guys are good folk but they have a job to do. I appreciate your wanting to learn too. Last year I ran into a young fella who had a lawn care business, the DOT had just gotten through...
