"As for the DOT pulling me over for hauling pallets of parts how could they tag me if I can prove I personally bought the material for personal use?"
I can't say they can or would, but if in fact you are operating a commerical enterprise, it is always best to do it right (in my opinion) because...
I am not real familiar with this motor, but I used to run an 855 block 350. I think they are probably about the same. In the stone ages, when you overhauled a diesel motor like the 855 block 350hp, you ran the overhead after break in. They would adjust the valve lash and reset your injectors...
Welcome Stroker01, I would highly advise you to listen to the folk here regarding the commercial aspect of your use. As a former class 8 driver (much of it in your neck of the woods) I can tell you that you will indeed need a CDL to haul pallets. The first time you pass a DOT officer and he sees...
Pic of ether bottle on truck
As it happens, I took a picture of a cab with the ether system showing when I was at Glens, I don't know what model this is, but I hope it helps.
On my 925, the valve is mounted on a small bracket that sits on the same bracket the washer res is on and the bottle screws on to the top of the valve. The line then goes to a temp valve on the coolant line and then back to a inlet on the steel part of the intake manifold just past where the...
Sometimes the tire looks fine - and might well have been at the speed it was rated for. It was on the front driver side - for a while. Now, It's 55 or less for me.
Come on fellas help him out, you don't want ME giving him advice, I didn't even take a spare tire or battery on my recovery. On Second thought I guess I can help; don't do it like I did! Have it shipped if you can afford it and if not take everything you can think of, including my brother in law...
I don't have any words of wisdom for you, but there are lots of recovery guys here who will weigh in to help though. What I can say is --- Welcome to the site (oh and read the tm's fore they tell you to.)
Since you don't know the truck definately start with the easy stuff. I would start with pulling the line between the filter and the IP. Put the end of the line in a clear bottle and run some fuel into it by energizing the lift pump. Watch for fuel flow etc. That will tell you what your fuel...
What led to the initial problem? Start with the simple stuff first. If you haven't changed the filter lately or if there has been a change in where you buy your fuel, change the filter. This is a DB2 pump correct? If it is, and I remember correctly, you have a fuel return line coming off that...
When you say fuel through pump are you talking injector pump or lift pump? If it is your injector pump, how do you know you are getting fuel through it? I assume you have cracked an injector line since you say no fuel to injector?
Glad you made it home okay. Sounds like a lot of different state law issues here to me. I know when I bought my 925 and tried to buy a temp tag the dmv wouldn't sell me one because I wasn't a commercial entity. If I went that route I had to comply with commerical dot regs. I called the dmv, the...
