I have been reading various threads where the member is directed to "read the tm" and that seems like good advice. I went looking for all the tm's I could find on my 925 and I can't find any. When one puts "925 tm" in the search you get 335 threads but none of them appear to be technical manuals...
I think the point that emr and commandojeff as well as others make is an important one. Some of us were not in the military and had no previous experience with military vehicles. I think their point that these are tactical vehicles is an important point. My 925 is a completely different animal...
"Well after reading the first post in this thread, i am wondering if you guys ever came across a leaking tire too  cricket,cricket... didn't think so, Oh a leaky tire, Wonder what would happen searching one of those,...All in fun bro, just getting a kick out of the...
I put the whole plate on. The plate that was on the truck didn't have a hole in it (this plate is on the passenger side of the block) I needed the one that didn't have a heater hose coming off it. I tried to buy it from NAPA but where I live they wanted $110! Everybody else was paying low 60's...
I was surprised at how doggy the NA250 was. I hadn't driven a big truck for a number of years and the last one I drove was an N14 with a Rockwell 9 behind it but I have found the 250 with the auto to be slow and pretty unresponsive. I have never had a load on my 925 so I don't know what it would...
There is a really good thread going about putting block heaters in this motor. I just did, it cost me $67. Worth a look. I don't know how to link it for you.
Thanks ProPower, I will get an O ring from you soon and when the weather breaks I might even try to do this myself. What size socket does it take to remove that ring? I don't have any that big but using a tape it looks like a 1 1/8 in?
I have a 925 and considered the same thing. Old hwy dept plows are cheap. I saw a 12 foot V blade and mountings sell at state hwy auction for $80. And there are times I need the ability to plow our rural road, just to get my car to the state hwy --- till I looked at my insurance policy. It...
SandBar, have you checked to make sure the leak isn't a hose? I have a 6.5 that was dripping - it turned out to be a bad fuel line. I would make sure it's the IP before I bought one. I didn't see where this had been discussed but if I missed it - sorry.
I wouldn't sell mine for that. You know the old saying, "Where two fools meet" that's the value. If you look on Ebay, they seem to be running about that. You may buy one cheaper from the Gvt but you don't know what you will get. Sometimes you get lucky and other times not so much. By the time...
Well to be candid, the one ton gets about 18.5 to 19.5 hwy and the 1/2 ton regularly gets 20 on the hwy (yep a 6.5 in a K1500). They don't get that in town but I don't live in town so most of the driving is hwy. Neither one did that well until I went with straight pipes on the exhaust. .That...
I have two 6.5's a 93 that has been bullet proof with a mechanical IP and a 97 with a DB4. It has given me LOTS of experience with the fuel system. Pm me if you want some ideas on where to find the kind of help regarding a 6.5 you get here on military vehicles. That truck has a DB4 electronic IP...
I had a similar problem and it turned out there was a wire pinched between the bed and the frame. Guess it took a load to short out. Anyway, cut it off and all the lights except the marker it was going to works. Good luck.
How do you do that wsucougarx and what happens if you have a blow out? Not too sure about these 1400's only had one blow out and it was on the front but when I drove a class 8, blow outs regularly took out the mudflap brackets of our trucks (we ran a lot of recap tires.) A jerry can on those mud...
I have 925, not sure what a locker is but if you mean a diff lock, (that allows for the front set of wheels to pull and not the back set unless they are engaged by the diff lock) nope - not mine anyway.
Thanks to all for this great thread. My heater came in from Globalpartspro, ebay $65 and free shipping. Took about an hour to put it in. I waited about four hours before I put the antifreeze back in and so far, no problems. Probably wouldn't have tackled it without all the positve comments and...
