Okay guys, my heater came in and I got it installed. I put blue RTF on both sides of the gasket and it says to let it sit for 24 hrs. Did you guys wait for the setup or what? I hate to leave two five gallon pails of antifreeze where something can get into it. I have it up out of the way but...
Mine worked fine when I picked up the truck but recently, it began rapidly bouncing back and forth. I took the connection loose and cleaned the male end. It worked for a bit but has since started again. I think it is a corrosion issue on mine.
My heater should be here in the next day or two, can't wait to get it on. I have a couple of questions though, swbradley1, how are those magnetic heaters working, where did you find them and how much were they? Question Neophyte, was that a total drain in those two buckets? Where did you drain...
Thanks ProPwer but there are two problems with your suggestion - I had already changed the tire when you posted, so it was already off the truck and I don't have the o rings - BUT - I will keep the information you posted cause it sure sounds like the way to do it if I end up doing one myself and...
Welcome to the site M2Guy. I am also fairly new here and a first time owner of a 925. I too looked at the 2.5 ton and probably would have bought one if I had found the right one. I am not an expert at anything related to military vehicles so for what it is worth, it seems to me the dueces are...
Yep, I have already had to stand the tire back up a couple of times and it seems to get heavier every time! Think you guys got the idea (at least for an old guy like me.)
I agree wreckerman893, I would pay that in a heartbeat. I live about 6 miles from a couple of big truckstops that have tireshops, when the weather clears I will load that tire up and visit them! It would be awesome to be able to keep that tire and have it repaired for $50. If the weather was...
Awesome, great news and thanks everybody for the quick info. Definately sounds like something I will either wait till spring to tackle or maybe take to a tire shop (I'm no spring chicken any more!) Will a typical truck tire place like a big truck stop have the O ring it takes?
I went out to drive the 925 today and found the tire pressure on the passenger steer tire down to 20lbs. I aired the tire up to 60 lbs and could hear what sounded like bubbles. First, I don't understand why it would bubble, I don't THINK it is filled with any fluid. Second, it sounded like the...
Welcome to the site usrrlg; I too bought mine (925A1) to get through in the snow. We don't have much but we live on a east/west road with cut banks. It isn't uncommon to have 4 or 5 ft drifts. I am counting on my unit getting me through when I need to go. Guess we will find out. Again, welcome...
Thanks BigWill1985 but it's definately broke. If it wasn't before, it is now! I was trying to take the bottom part off and when I twisted it - a whole lot more turned than was supposed to. Thanks to drgreg, they have a system on Amazon I may go with if I can't find one on SS, thanks to juanprado...
You are quite welcome, give us pictures when you get it rigged up. That hook looks about the size that is on my truck. I was going to change the bolt but I will have to cut it out, it's pretty rusted in. Good luck!
Well as it turns out, I have bigger problems than routing. The solenoid unit the bottle screws into only has a ground wire. I can see where the power wire broke off flush with the body of the unit. SO, anybody know where I can get a NOS?
I don't know if you can make any sense of the following but it has all the dimensions. It is a 1in by 3in bolt through the clevis. There one and a quarter inch clearance between the bolt and the back of the clevis, two inches from the back of the clevis to the center of the bolt. Let me know if...
Thanks juanprado, the lines are definately miss routed. Looks like an easy change though and thanks to Rkrug too, cause I think in addition to being missrouted, it is plugged up! I appreciate all the help both of you have been - I am going to need the ether system soon!
I purchased an ether bottle from NAPA for $50 and installed it in the socket. I can't tell if the system is working as it doesn't seem to make a difference when I push the button. I looked at the system and the tube routing is confusing. There is a small tube that comes out the bottom of the...
