General Discussions Forum Needs To Be Created

This site really needs a General Discussions forum. As pointed out in this thread, the Conversations forum is to be used for MV discussions only. It would be extremely handy to have one forum dedicated to off topic posts, general discussions and friendly chatting not related to military...

    Hello from WA. State...

As a fellow M105A2 owner and Washatonian, let me welcome you to the site. Be warned, the trailer won't be enough. You WILL want a truck to go with it. It's only a matter of time. :-D You can kind of see my M105A2 behind Goliath:

    Anyone need end curtains?

I still need a set. Just need to work out my finances for the next couple weeks to see if there is enough cash to afford it. (stupid recession) Any idea what shipping would be to zip code 98072?

    Militaty Decon Bottle Location

I located mine in the tool box because it was originally in a cardboard box under the passenger seat and slid around when I was driving on bumpy roads.

    EUC Doom

Hopefully the address on your driver's license is also the address for your cell phone. They need to establish residency. Matching addresses is the main way they do this.

    Pulled the transmission today!!!

Very good advice sir! I will check tonight. Noob question though, the jack shaft is the small shaft between the transmission and transfer case, correct? (These forums are so knowledgeable.)

    Got Me A 5 Ton

Ooh, nice! I'm convinced the deuce is a gateway drug. As soon as you own it for awhile, you will want to upgrade to something bigger. Good job moving right to the big trucks. Congrats!

    deuce oil leak - help!

After thinking it over, it was most likely gear oil and not motor oil as I first thought. It was a dark fluid, so it really could have been either motor oil or dirty gear fluid from the tranny. I was expecting the gear fluid to be a lighter color, but in hind site, when I checked the diffs, they...

    deuce oil leak - help!

Okay guys, thanks for the help. I would love to fix it myself, but time and experience are lacking with me. I'm going to see if I can lure a deuce mechanic from Ft Lewis to work on my truck.

    M105c?

No kidding, I'd love to get those! As for backing, that is exactly what I did. My dad stood near the back of the deuce with a flashlight and shouted out directions. It sort of worked, but I couldn't see a thing. The pintle hitch on the front is a great idea!

Burned out dash lights on the deuce

So I called NAPA for the 356 bulb. They said non were in stock and nobody had singles. The only way to get them was to buy a box of 10 at $2.99 a bulb. I wasn't going to do that, so I checked eBay and found a seller selling the same box of 10 bulbs for only $7.50 after shipping. That's a much...

    deuce oil leak - help!

I wish there was a reputable deuce mechanic here in western Washington. Seems nobody knows how to work on these trucks. Grr.

    deuce oil leak - help!

Moved from this thread... At first I wasn't too concerned. I figured maybe it needs a rear main seal and would get around to fixing it later. Now I'm concerned that the clutch may be contaminated with motor oil, or that gear oil and motor oil are mixing somewhere in the truck. I assume that...
