I had planned on towing it home without connecting the air brakes to the truck since I don't want to risk dealing with a potentially seized brake. Sounds like this isn't an option and I will have to hook up the air brakes to even get the trailer to move. Correct?
The guy has the GL paperwork...
Ah, thank you. Sounds like vacuum brakes won't be compatible with my deuce. There is a nice M105A2 that I'm trying to get. Will this be compatible with my truck?
Anyone have the TM #'s for these trailers?
M105a2c?
I was looking at M105 trailers today and found one that was labeled as an M105C. Never heard of the "C" version trailer before. What is the difference between an A and C version. It didn't look any different than the M105A, but it must be somewhat different given the different...
Any suggestions on painting the wooden troop seats? I will scrape the seats of all the loose paint first and probably rattle can them over with Rustoleum Camo. Should I primer them first?
I absolutely love the random pictures box on the top right side of the forums. I tend to click the photo from time to time and check out people's various MV photos.
Also saw my truck up there a couple times. Woot!
I've got to say your trucks look great! Who would have thought spray cans could make a military truck look so good? Never would have thought it until I found this site. :-D
Is there a way to lock the front differential to prevent slipping of either tire when climbing up a steep hill or driving through mud? I'd think equal speed between tires would create the best traction offroad.
Oh I see now. Lockout hubs on a deuce means the front wheels are spinning independently and not turning the front differential while the truck is in RWD. This saves on fuel because less components are turning.
Does that mean the lockout hubs will lock automatically when the truck is engaged in...
Excuse the dumb question, but I would like a little clarification for us noobs.
Here's the way I understand it. Lockout hubs on a 4x4 truck usually let the front tires freewheel unless the truck is in 4x4. My dad's 1991 Ford truck requires you to exit the truck and lock the hubs manually. When...

The more I read on this site, it looks like the problem may be with the outer seal causing the inner seal to leak. So maybe all that needs to be repaired is the outer seal. I could probably do that myself.
OTOH, it looks like the brake drum may be contaminated due to the leaking gear oil.
