Crank, NO START after a 100 degree day. No issues since new injectors 3 months ago.

Just checked the IP solenoid (Pink Wire). With ignition ON, the solenoid clicks when connected/disconnected. Good right?

Crank, NO START after a 100 degree day. No issues since new injectors 3 months ago.

Cranked but no start this morning. I have cracked the air bleed valve and get fuel when I crank the engine. Pulled a Glow Plug- about two years old, my OHM meter says it's 2.2Ω- same as a new set of G60s on my shelf. Would the heat cause this? What else can I check?

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Changed out all injectors, and fuel lines (Tygon-yellow), hose clips (HELP parts from Oreilly spec'd for 6.2 & 6.5 diesel GM). First ones I ever tackled. Had to buy a 30 deep well from Oreilly ($10). Other tools: 3/8" rachet with 1/2 adapter, Kroil to loosen difficult couplings, 7mm to loosen...

    Transmission pickup tube length.

My 1009 seems to require more warm up before the tranny gets up and moves. The last trans oil change, i noticed the filter didn't really hang on to the pickup tube. I added an extra o-ring, and it seemed to help- but was still a little slow to build pressure on cold days. I'm getting ready to...

Tighten power steering pump and alternator belts- no helper.

My belts started squealing on my M1009 last week. I put it off until today. One look with the engine running told the story. The power steering pump bracket had at least one nut loose. This is the new one i got with purchase of an old P/S pump for $39? The original one had broken twice, and I...

    5 new M1009 shocks

Installed new Bilstein shocks on front and back. Also installed a new KYB on the front linkage. The rear shocks were not hard, just had to learn a few things along the way: Passenger Rear: Use a wedge to make room for your hand to get at inside rail nut- gently pry the muffler towards...

    Cross Reference STARTER REPLACEMENT Help

OTWPeck, Here is a link to starter woes I got help with. I ended up trying 4 starters, before I got where I am today. My M1009 starts strong, and nearly 100% reliability. I pulled the starter than came in my purchase of the Blazer- it was 12 volt. and a brace was missing. This may have...

    Door Panel Paint Source?

I used SEM cleaner and vinyl prep, before shooting my seats with SEM upholstery dye mix ed at my local paint shop to the original color code for those seats. The seats that came in my '09, were beat. I found a very nice pair in the bone yard from a Chevy s10. Same seat in blue. In less than an...

    only in Oregon?

I believe that Oregon is the last state that still has stations that pump your gas by law. In most stations you can, or have to, pump your own diesel. Some big chains don't want you to do even that. Yesterday I pulled in and hopped out to initiate my fill. A younger guy comes over and asks in a...

Headlights seem to be oriented too low after TM.

After bumping around the sticks during deer season, I thought I'd check my headlamps on my M1009- one seemed higher than the other. Per the TM I measured the distance from flat surface to center of headlamp. It was 38". The TM says to mark the present middle of the beam (hi-beam ON) on the wall...

Power steering pump bracket- is their any way to make them sturdier?

I found a guy on the bay that had a pump and bracket for sale under $50 shipped. Got here today before the sun came around to that side of the house. I had the original one off since yesterday- including having pulled the pulley with a HFT pulley kit. The bottom 2-piece bracket was the hardest...

Power steering pump bracket- is their any way to make them sturdier?

I'm in the middle of moving this week and I hear an odd noise as I turn off the ignition. Under the hood I find the bracket for the P/s pump cracked off on the top ear and the driver's side ear. Are there any ways to weld these up so they won't go out in the future? Are there any places to...

Unauthorized Google photo gets the left-handed salute

Yes, I was flipping the Google car off. I saw it coming around the corner near my house. As it got closer I suddenly got the feeling that I was being filmed without consent and I didn't like it. I used my left hand cause my daughter was in the car with me. You can still see my intent though.

Unauthorized Google photo gets the left-handed salute

Weird how their camera spliced my Blazer.

Anyone make alternate uses of this bracket?

Made a pistol holder for when I am driving. Just unholster an set it where it's easy to draw without any extemporaneous motion. looks like all you're doing is un-buckleing. I don't leave it in the rig when I leave, it's just a place to park it while I'm driving. To draw my left hand grabs the...

M1008 multiple spare tire mount ideas needed

fal_shooter: here is the link to another thread here on spare carriers. The whole deal was about$70 buck IIRC. Aftermarket carrier from the wrecking yard, and a 3"x3" square tube and longer Ring carriers to rest the 3x on. A little welding.

My add-on temp guage may not be long enough...

About 140 degrees either way; but it's cold now. When pulling his I get to 180-190.

My add-on temp guage may not be long enough...

I added the gauge a couple of years back, but have never felt that it was giving accurate readings. I'm thinking that the sensor in the housing does not dip low enough into the water jacket to get a reading. I have tried to "burp" the water out so there is no void left, but I think as water...
