Hi,
I am looking at new batteries for my M929A2. Reading other posts on the forum it sounds like Group 31's are a good choice to replace the military 6LT's. Also read D8's are good but they sound to big to handle easily. The 6LT's I have now are on there last legs and I would like to replace...
Hi Bruce,
Your collection of trucks is over the top. I see you picked up a M916A1. You'll have to let us now how you like it. As for my M929A2 everything is always for sale.
Thanks
Something to keep in mind are the wheelbases of the trucks. The M939 series tractors and dumps have a 167" wheelbase and the short cargo trucks have a 179" wheelbase. The dump bed and hoists are the same for the M809 and M939. With the exception of the cab protectors. The the cab protector on...
Hi,
If anyone knows who won the M939 series dump bed let me know. I am interested in buying it. I would hate to see it get scrapped. The auction ended 1/26 06:03 PM CT.
Thanks
M-Series Rebuild installed air brakes on one of their clients M817. Look in the Photos/Clients section of their website. They have photos of the install posted. It looks like they used wedge brakes in front and s-cams in the rear.

Thanks for all the great information. But, what is the correct way to start and harm up a 6CTA8.3 or NHC 250? Is the operator manual correct? When the engine starts cranking should I be pressing down on the gas pedal? Thanks
Hi,
I had a question in reguards to starting my M929A2 in the cold weather. Now that the weather is in the 40's or 50's. It seems to be starting differently than in the summer. All summer the truck would start right up. Now in the cooler weather when it starts it seems to idle low for a several...
Hi,
One of the aftercool water return tube hoses has started to leak on my M929A2. I am thinking about replacing everything. The hoses, tubes, and elbows. Has anyone had to do this to their truck? The TM manual says to drain the block to complete this repair. Do you think I need to drain the...
I know your thinking about an 8x8 Deuce. But, I just thought I would post is picture of a 5-Ton truck. I saved this picture off this website a while back.
Hi,
My sister shot a few pictures of these trucks the other day. Interesting stickers on them. Anyone recognize that symbol? I wonder where their headed?
Thanks
I installed a new alternator I got from CME Arma. When I have Circuit 568 connected the alternator runs super super hot. It also seems like it stays hot when the truck is not running. If I run the truck without the circuit connected the alternator runs cool enough that I can hold my hand on it...
Well, I put some miles on the truck over the past two weekends. The dropping primary air pressure problem has not returned yet. I wish it would just start leaking again so I could fix it.
On another note I did manage to truck the truck out of fuel. Man it was hard starting that 8.3 Cummins...
Hi,
Thank for all the good information. Yesterday I took the truck for a spin around the storage lot to build pressure. Then turned off the truck and had my Dad press the brake pedal and I listened for leaks. I didn't hear any leaks and now the press isn't dropping. So, I think Sunday we will...
