24 volts comes from the 2 12 volt batteries...the voltage is stepped down to 12 volts through 2 wire wound resistors located on the firewall behind the engine. The 12 volts from the resistors is sent to the glow plug relay where is used to initialize the glow plugs. The problem arises when the...
Side metal rails that run the length of the top edge of the bed for the canvas cover attachment.
There use to be some type of RTV or sealant under the rails. Mine dried up and the rails are metal to metal. Rattles like a SOB when idling....
To remove the inner rim I placed a jack stand with the base resting on the rim between the studs. (One of the rear tires is removed and the truck is suspended by a floor jack) I placed the rim, tire, and jack stand under the truck so the top of the jack stand is under the rear leaf spring...
I used the Fabworthy PVC inserts on my MTRs. I wouldnt go back to the runflats in my old MTs. A bottle jack warps the inserts to an oval shape for insertion with some lubricant. 8 ozs of air soft beads for balancing (I probably should have used 10 oz) Good ride, less weight.....YMMV
Here are the lines Dr Cucvrus.....I laid them under the M1008...looks like they will fit. The challenge will be getting them through the frame member that crosses under the oil pan. The quality looks pretty good...we"ll see how they fit...
Ill attempt the install in a few weeks. Work, Dr...

These were the same guys who were guarding the military nuclear cache...

I ended up using a bottle jack and turned the PVC insert into an oval. Used some WD 40 to lube the edges....when it got too tough I cut the sidewall on the old tire and pulled the insert out.
"While my truck is “down”, I decided to pull the runflats and switch to Trailworthy Fab PVC beadlock adapters and use 10 ounces of ballast media in the tires. That was work!"
AGREED! Try removing the PVC inserts when the tire is bad....its even more work!
