Someone here on SS used an engine hoist with the legs on the sidewalls of the tire and the hoist with a strap pulling the PVC insert sideways through the hole. Once he had it half way through he rotated it with prybars into place. Hope that helps Good luck sir
1. You'd have to get enough height clearance for the wheels
2. Wheel spacers with 6 bolt to 8 bolt adaptors
Someone else would have to weigh in on how much spacing you would need
If you need the wheels and tires try MILITARYOFFROADTIRES.NET - We're declaring war on high tire prices! Good stuff
I asked him if he took pics....no joy
Weve got 2 V-100s here so he knows what they look like
Maybe some SS member up in Colorado Springs area could confirm?
A buddy was at Ft Cason CO picking up some HMMMVs for our dept.
He said there were several V-100s there at the DRMO.
Guess theyre still out there!
Maybe a SS member near Ft Carson could confirm?
I had a front turn signal light that wouldn't work. Changed the bulb 2X... no joy. Examined the socket found the ground wire had worked loose from the bulb socket. Soldered it together...problem solved. Check your sockets and connections. Meter the socket with the bulb removed. Sounds like a...
Forgot to add, I rebuilt the transmission shifter indicator. Fabricated the indicator needle out of some stretched plastic then painted it with some of my wifes nail polish..! Now I can see when Im in drive!
Tore the dash apart. Cant glue on the new dash pad until it warms up a bit more here. Removed the instrument panel and cleaned all the dirt out. Sprayed the instrument cluster plastic silver for better reflective light on the gauges. Checked all bulbs. Repaired (what I could) the instrument...
I thought it was a no no to put anti sieze on glowplugs. The threaded portion is the ground for the plug. I think anti sieze compound would act as an insulator.
Anyone else heard this? :?:
I drive mine 80 miles (both ways to work home M1008 ) a day on the freeway. They (37" MTRs) ride pretty good. I have run flats inside also. As stated before they arent good on ice, snow they are pretty good. I have a little wobble at high speeds, but I need to get them rebalanced. (Not everyone...
I was poking around under the hood one day and pushed the hot wire to the starter from the battery. I noticed arcing coming from the wire near the starter. Closer examination showed it had chafed the insulation off the wire. A little electrical tape and I covered the wire with some wire split...
:ditto: They do this at a two way radio shop I used to work at all the time
Use a low amperage switched power source to run a high amperage battery fed relay
The glow plug relay circuit is an example...
If you can find which contact either has 12 volts or a ground when the key is switched to assy You could tie in a relay with 12 volts (battery) to your accessories
I've had my 86 08 over 11 years, put over 50K miles on it. Never knew about the mod until I read about it here. Went ahead and did it. Cheap insurance!
