    Help Identifying Engine Label

197679, 1097A2. So you are right on with engine identification. I am hoping someone familiar with the military nomenclature would be able to tell whether the engine was rebuilt or new replacement. Just my curiosity. There are no other stickers on the left hand valve cover where I have seen them...

    Help Identifying Engine Label

M Mog, it runs really well! This is the one that I decided on as opposed to that rust bucket I posted a week or so ago. Very happy with the choice and decision to go this direction, with your help. I started it yesterday in 15degree weather and it fired right up, no smoke at all even after...

    Help Identifying Engine Label

Just picked my new toy up yesterday. Was hoping for a GMP (?) motor, but saw this instead. Any help deciphering it? I see a date of 11/20. Did they replace the motor? It doesn't smoke, started this morning in 15 degrees no problem. Thanks!!

    M1035 Help With Parts Identification

They really want to sell it and just need to accept that it needs a ton of work. I was considering offering them a lot less and have it as a spare parts rig or parting it out, but I don't need another project. It did start right up, most of the lights did work, the transmission did move it back...

    M1035 Help With Parts Identification

That is very encouraging and I will keep an eye on the auctions. I have switched horses and found a very clean, low mile, 2001 not far from me that I have committed to. If it wasn't for this site and input on my post from everyone, I would have made a bad investment and been upset with myself...

    M1035 Help With Parts Identification

Mogman, great advice and I really appreciate it. Here are the facts, would appreciate your opinion and I do value it since you are the Mod here and have much more experience than I. I live on Cape Cod, as does the truck. The truck has supposedly been owned by the seller since 95. Said he just...

    M1035 Help With Parts Identification

All good points gentlemen. I don't have it in my possession yet. But, I have looked at it in person and once I get it to my shop next week I will do a more in depth search. I have crawled under it and I didn't see anything glaring, but didn't think to look at the frame rails. No money has passed...

    M1035 Help With Parts Identification

For your viewing pleasure.....Someone was getting creative with welding. I see stuff like this and just shake my head and wonder what people were thinking and is this how they deal with their lives! Let's just say I "bought it right" so I don't mind putting some sweat equity into it.

Thank you for the patient explanation! I "think" I understand! Like learning a new language. Any suggestions on where and who parts these out? I am realizing I need some mounting brackets for the arms as well.

    M1035 Help With Parts Identification

Thank you. I have noticed that about RF/LR being interchangeable. Another interesting thing is that I am finding RF arms no problem on the used market, but no luck with LF....still researching and trying to locate. Here is a pic of what I am dealing with. Let' just say, I enjoy a project and...

    M1035 Help With Parts Identification

Thank you for that. You have to realize I am not ex military and have no idea what the 2 abbreviations you used even mean! "UOC" "H20"??? Those things and references with initials are thrown around like people should just know what they are. I have no idea. And I was looking at numerous TM but...
