If anyone has any info or knowledge of cheap places (one place quoted 150 an hour with estimated 4 hours) please let me know.
Willing to pay and give Driving experience in the APC...
That would be a M3a1 Scout car! They were used very early and found to be overweight/high ground pressure for cross country. So they redesigned a platform I would guess based off it with the half track in mind to improve usability off road. Besides the Tracks easier way to tell them apart is...
Where is the photo of them greasing the inner U joint on the drive shaft huh? That's the fun one. Not to mention geting enough grease into all the Torsion bars. Takes like 20 pumps for that rear bass bearing to get anything.
Only because it was asked....
WC24 Command Car. Danish Bringback!
And the WC-22 before it was put into Storage. I rebuilt the Transmission and Steering box.
Guess I should have mentioned the WC22 is in pieces with a partially restored frame and axles, and currently I am taking apart the WC24. However I can get some photos tonight and perhaps start a new thread on the WC24 as to not Hijack this one.
If you can get the T number off the engine that would basically confirm it. But with the Military gauges, open cab, winch, my best guess is a WC-22 T215 stamped engine. Should have larger real brakes 14 in vs the 11 in the front.
We have two WC Series Dodge 1/2 tons at work. One is a WC22 and...
Losoks great, but I never understood peoples obsession with gloss OD paint. Never seen a actual gloss OD army/marine vehicle behold.
Also, did actual USMC come with LSDs or Lockers? They are two different setups. Lockers are a Mechanical setup locking both axles together, where as LSD or...
Going to throw out there an issue I had with our M274 long time ago. Would run great but randomly just get pissed off about something. I tried everything and I found it to be a loose grounding wire for the Magneto. It was shorting out randomly. I fixed that and she ran great afterwards.
There is a spring compressor designed for Flathead engines you will have to use to remove the valves. Like a big "C" clamp. There are some who just hit the valves with a hammer pooping the keepers off and doing it that way but I do not care for the caveman approach.
Depending on how much of...
You mean F-Head right? I don't know of any 38a1s to get L/flat heads. However I can answer some questions and post some photos of a F head I rebuild and painted. I can say if it was 100% correct but looked real nice.
I am told the Omix ones really are not that great. It would be better top have your old one cleaned/rodded/repaired. If your old one is really too chewed up let me know we may have a few take out ones in use able shape. You can look us(Where I work) up Quarter Ton & Military and can help or...
We built an engine with what we had on hand (Good Core) and swapped them out (aka didn't rebuild what was already there). We had a machine shop re do the head (valves, guides, seats etc) and block (checked, cleaned, bored/honed) and I believe we went with 40 over mainly because we have NOS 40 over...
Well here yaaaa Go! There are many layers of the paint. Oddly enough I have in total broken only three bolts. The rest have come out pretty easy.
EDIT: Also, those are indeed M151a1 Turns signals on it!
And a yummy wheel Cylinder
And with my freshly rebuilt F head ( customer was stoked to...
Past week been working on a John Deere Green M38a1. Started with engine sway with the first engine rebuild ever which so far runs amazing, and then had to figure out a clutch not disengaging issue followed by why aren't the brakes working? Answer: Three out of four wheel cylinders are rusted...
Come on Down! Find me and I can show you everyone (I know) and what have you. Just ask for Devan!
On another note,
I am still on the fence about selling FV 436 Tracked Armour driving deals to general public but for SS members I can make exception since military vehicle owners are way...
We have two original USMC Late contract Jeeps here at work so if you need reference for anything let me know and I can get photos. Both were radio Jeeps, one of them set up with the larger gen (MISSING) but still has the rectifier in the grille!
Not all, but chances improve with contract USMC...
I'll be there seeing that not only I live here, but also part of the club.
Was thinking on selling APC rides but everyone is worried about insurance and lawsuits and such.
Ever need a photo reference we have two USMC M38a1 in pretty decent shape (original unrestored) that I can take photos for reference for you if needed.
