Got the water pump back and have to say, I now have a go to people for this deal. They had to cut a new shaft and installed a new drive gear. I believe total bill was around $300(+ shipping). But for a basically new pump that you can not find anywhere I willing to bet that's an okay price when...
Also, if anyone has or can get photos of the transmission cross member. I got new mounts and I turned the member around but now I am unsure if it is right or not. I followed what I've seen in a few other obscure photos but something isn't right.
Be amazingly help full!
Even if all you can do is give me a point of reference for distance I would be glad. I am thinking someone cut/welded/repaired the front of this mite and made it to short. But until I have good info (google fails hard for once) I am just guessing.
I have Short Wheel base M422 in the shop with a seemingly huge issue. It appears the engine is sitting far to back causing the driveshaft to bind and making it sit at an angle. I swapped the Transmission cross member around (the right way) hoping it was it but in fact made me discover the engine...
Guess there is not many scout car people on here.
However tracked down that the Oil cooler is a original DAF Truck (Dutch Military I think) equipment and after translating half of a forum for said trucks I found the info to get the cooler and then pump off.
We sent the waterpump off to a...
I am having hard time finding info on the repacking or servicing the waterpump on the scout car. Mainly photos.
The biggest issue is this one has a JXLD engine in it with oil cooler and looks like I have to pull it to get the waterpump off. I read in the manual I can repack the water pump...
The owner had some restrictions.......I did get away with cutting the rims and few other knick knacks.

I was going to do cut lines red, but I was initially referring to like, Engine Blue, Intake Green, Suspension white etc....
And this one has a motor on it that rotated via a belt the starter which should turn the engine. I assume there should be no pistons or rods in it. I would think putting...
I am told was used in the National Guard as a training deal. The cuts are well done and not sloppy. It is a Un-cut frame as well. Seems the Rear Diff (which is cut open) and the engine is frozen. Sure this was left in some kind of elements. I am going to be re doing it for a museum. Dash Data...
Looking for any info on the Cutaway Display MUTTS. Need some help on finding the correct color scheme for the components. I am seeing several layers of color mismatched on some things. (Yellow/White Transmission I.E.) In the next few months will be restoring one.
Will have photos later on...
I looked in the Boneyard found none then asked Matt, Apparently few years ago when I was messing with a M38a1 myself for a museum I stole the last one. However I know I've found them online before with the appropriate wiring and pin in them between $30-$70. With the M38a1 I do know you will...
The big two wire Jumper cable for the slave receptacles? Or the actual Socket deal?
We may have OE pumps but they would all need a rebuild if could be found.
