I got bored tonight waiting for my tanks, and getting the truck into the shop so I played with paint a little.
In paint,
I added what the new tanks will look like and also what the fab. roof will somehat look like.
Just sent off an old tank to a guy to fab up new stainless steel tanks. It might be jumping the gun but I'm bored at college and started thinking of paint, and I have it narrowed down to these three pattern schemes. Tell me what you guys think would look best for this truck, I'm unbiased for...
What!!! why are you paying $460 to take a test?!? If you have a buddy who owns a truck and trailer borrow it go to the DMV and take the test, written and road are free for first 2 times, after that its $20 for each.
Yes it does get expensive if you go to one of these companies. Is 2 hours enough to learn yes, is it long enough to get it down and be comfortable enough to pass, doubt it. Oh and its not like class D. You will fail atleast once. Unless your either god, or you have praticed a couple weeks.
All I have to say is to be careful with the cardboard and cut a decent size hole in the center. Having off center holes will eventually make the fan wobble till it breaks off or bends the fins right into the radiator. And those repairs aren't fun in the woods 30mi. from the closest diesel shop...

I was reluctant to about paying also, but after sitting down and realizing how much help I have had with my truck (manuals, things to avoid that people have learned the hard way, and some trick that get the job done cheap... etc.), it was easily worth 10x that amount.
Yep pretty much what he wants. Wants to throw a pickup dressing on it and try to get it pass the judges to go into a demolition derby. I don't think it will work but after all it is his money. And if it will fund my project I won't stand in his way.

Also, Ranger it was quiet the experience when we got to corners, the sprag kept kicking in and wanting to pull hard right. It was an interesting ride home
Yep I will be removing the top of the iron work and try to make it like a normal extended cab. The previous owner made that and was going to connect it to the box and make a whole bunch of kennels back there for his sled dogs. And Mad I don't mind keeping a running tab, though it may make me sad...
