Fantastic!
I was hoping to hear from you.
That is an "in your face" color combo but the stance and tires are what I'm drooling over.
That is one BIG bobber. GREAT job!
If I'm able to make the drive over there, I'll be in touch.
If you all are looking for a quieter muffler, someone recently posted on here about a Donaldson (I believe that was the name) muffler on here.
Yes, it is a physically larger muffler BUT.....
The larger muffler drops the db level 12-15.
The bullet is only around 4 db drop.
My internet connection and YouTube aren't playing well together with 1080p tonight.
Can't get a consistent play.....it skips and pauses..... :(
What little bits I picked up on? WOW! The clarity is amazing. VERY crisp images.
The sound was spot-on, too.
This SS member put together a fantastic website with lots of pictures and dimensions on how to bob a Deuce, including the dimensions you're looking for!

Are you 100% sure that pyrometer is on Farenheit and not Celsius?
Why I ask is.......
You mention 240 at 50-55MPH.
If that 240 is C, that would be 464 Farenheit.
Climbing a hill, you mention 400.
If that 400 is C, that would be 752 Farenheit.
Both of those Farenheit numbers are very possible.
Meaning I'd better wait a month or two for monsoon season to be done here in MO.
My front wheels did nothing backing my Deuce into my yard on Friday.
They just skated along no matter where I turned the wheel......my yard is pudding.
If one set of my duals was disconnected right now, I...
Is it necessary to remove BOTH axles on the forward rear?
I haven't done it yet but I keep reading about folks removing one side and replacing it with one front cap.
Wow! What an 814!
Does it have about a 70 foot turning circle? :-D
Friday evening, before the weekend "monsoons" arrived here, I took my wife and daughter out to get ice cream in my Deuce before sundown.
What a nice drive! [thumbzup]
A schoolmate of my daughter was at the ice cream...
Update!
Looks like Amazon is out of the mufflers-cart says "usually ships in 1 to 2 weeks".
If y'all don't feel like waiting, Summit Racing has the muffler AND the same clamps in stock.
AND the grand total is $1.90 less than Amazon.
Muffler at Summit:
Dynomax Performance 21470 -...
Holy smokes, mikeroot2!
That Deuce should be almost SILENT with that monster muffler on there!
Amazon has that muffler for $50.18, FREE SHIPPING! :jumpin:
GREAT job and a BIG thanks for all the links! [thumbzup]
The ONLY thing that'd make your posts better is a video with audio or even...
No kidding but my Whistler Deuce is quieter than the guy across the street's "hot rod" Cummins Dodge diesel pickup!
I think my Deuce is a more "pure" and deep diesel sound than that thing.
No matter what, my daughter wears her ear muffs and I wear my ear plugs.
No insult taken, Barrman.
Thanks for the response.
I know my brakes could use an adjustment.
The pedal travel is not excessive, just not to my liking.
I pressure bled the system at least 10 times (at 15 PSI) and keep getting bubbles......so I took a break before I tossed the whole shootin'...
The reason I asked was I did it at 15 (before seeing the TM's recommendation) and the bleed rate was weak at the wheel cylinders.
I plan to do it at 25 the next time I get the time and feel confident that'll make for a much more positive bleed.
I'm not happy with the pedal firmness presently.
Thanks, baseballlump.
I'll do some investigating and see who that person is with the 2 bobbed deuces.
Any others out there?
Feel free to PM or e-mail me if you're rather not broadcast it to the world.
Hello folks,
I am toying with bobbing my Deuce and would love to see one in person in St. Louis, MO or the area around it.
If you live around here and wouldn't mind a really pleasant fellow MV nut visiting, asking a bunch of questions and drooling over your handywork.......
E-mail or PM me...
My truck is under Liberty Mutual.
I have standard full coverage with none of the limitations of classic car insurance.
Most classic car insurers require garaging and there's no way I can afford to build a garage that big.
I have a bottle of Craftsman air tool oil in the garage right now.
Sounds like a winner to me.
2 ounces?
I'm bleeding my brakes today or tomorrow so I'm going to attempt to oil the airpak while I'm down there.
